Mike McClure, aka Autokinetic, based in Minneapolis (U.S.), has been performing live electronic music since the early 90’s. Coming up alongside local legends like Freddy Fresh, Woody McBride, Paul Birken, DJ Slip, and DVS1, his approach to electronic music is unmistakably informed by his long involvement in underground electronic music culture. Earlier in his career, Autokinetic produced hard, 909-driven acid and now focuses on deeper, more spacious grooves. His full-hardware live performances have an unmistakable after-hours feel that is true to his roots. McClure also records and performs live as AutoClub with Craig Lambert (Midnight Music Club). He has released music on such labels as Electric Music Foundation, Serotonin, Trope Recordings, and Music Man, as well as a record label co-managed with Freddy Fresh, Analog Records USA.

Fuse resident Downside delivers the ninth release on Fuse Imprint with Traces Of Spring, a record that reflects both clean articulation and careful tension building. Across four tracks, he explores a balance of intensity and restraint, depicting a narrative that mirrors his evolving role within the club.

Opening with Until It Fades, the A1 sets a hypnotic tone through patient layering and ambient space, hinting at drama while maintaining subtlety. With Blackout Protocol, the atmosphere turns into focus through an imposing, clear low-end that takes control, driving a darker framework designed for moments of deepened urgency. On the flip, Revolt moves with raw immediacy, its rhythm pushing forward with detail and weight, yet strangely uplifting. Closing with the title track, Traces Of Spring offers a suspended atmosphere, delicate in rhythm and melody, it's a reflection of the fragile balance between soft synth tension hanging by a thread and a focused, monumental pace.

With this release, Downside contributes a coherent and articulate statement to the Fuse catalogue, one that captures both the physicality of the dancefloor and the subtleties that extend beyond it.
