Sure Thing welcomes the Warsaw-based, Ukrainian artist Space Biology to the label, who delivers an elegant and enigmatic two-tracker that blurs the boundaries between the organic and the incorporeal, rendering phantoms into illusive sonic ephemera. On Biotope, @valentinomora ventures even further from the dancefloor, delving into a rich, psychoacoustic realm shaped by modular and spectral synthesis. Built primarily around the Rossum Panharmonium, a module that analyzes and re-synthesizes audio into evolving harmonic clusters in real time, the album conjures an imagined ecosystem, where sound behaves with the logic and fluidity of organic life. Eschewing traditional field recordings, Mora instead sculpts textures and gestures that feel deeply natural yet are entirely synthetic. Inspired by elements such as soil composition, air, humidity, light, temperature, and the chemical properties of both land and aquatic environments and the living creatures that inhabit them, the soundscapes emerge as a kind of sonic biology. The result is a collection of slow-moving, tension-laden compositions that blur the boundaries between physical sensation and abstract design. Biotope unfolds like a closed ecosystem: modular synthesis treated as a breathing entity, shaped by resonance, friction, and organic motion. It embodies a kind of mystical biology, where textures mimic living forms, and frequencies pulse with intent.

This is music to be felt as much as heard, Biotope invites you to listen with your skin, not just your ears.

“Misty Secrets“ is a window into the playful and organic world of French but Tbilisi-based producer Ina Kacz. Across five immersive, intricately woven tracks, she cultivates a vibrant sonic garden where percussive patterns, rich organic layers, and colourful textures intertwine.
The EP opens with “Whispers”, a mysterious initiation filled with ritualistic beats and abstract voices, as if calling the listener deeper into the undergrowth. The path quickens with “Last Night’s Dream”, a driving, mysterious chase, and reaches its most physical moment in “Dive In”, where rhythmic energy commands movement. Without breaking its stride, the EP turns to a more diffused light: “Unveiled Mysteries” wraps the beat in textured swells, while “Desert” moves under a soft, hazy surface, carrying a quiet sense of pressure beneath.
Prismatic, trippy, and rich with subtle shifts, the EP moves as a single organism, breathing differently in each track.

About Ina Kacz
Ina Kacz's sound is a captivating fusion of tribal grooves, hypnotic rhythms with a slight touch of trance, drawing from a wide variety of influences. The French/Polish artist, now based in Tbilisi, crafts music that always retains an emotional touch at its core.
In 2024, Ina unveiled her debut EP Endless on her newly founded imprint Aneelhi Rec, a bold exploration of dreamy half-tempo beats and techno-infused atmospheres that marked a pivotal evolution in her identity. Her music has also appeared on Anastasia Kristensen’s absorb emit, Kalt Records, On Board Music’s 10-year compilation, as well as on her own Aneelhi Rec’s latest Various Artists, each track pushing her signature sound into bold new territories.
Ina’s DJ sets are immersive, emotive, and unrelenting in their intensity, and Shave brought her to perform in iconic spaces such as Berghain and Tresor in Berlin, Bassiani in Tbilisi, ∄ in Kyiv, Fold in London, or Womb in Tokyo. As she continues to explore and evolve, Ina carves a unique space for herself in electronic music, shaped by rhythm, emotion, and a constant search for new forms of expression.

Ina Kacz - Misty Secrets [QNE016]

Spanning multiple decades, the friendship between Markus Guentner and Joachim Spieth started with contributions to Kompakt’s Pop Ambient series in 2001. At the time, neither could anticipate how the future or their respective artistic paths would unfold. Over the years, both have been a guiding presence throughout their careers as they delve farther and farther into ambient and beyond. Striving for only the utmost quality in productions and expression of self.

Coalescing in 2023, the pair combined their musical talents for their first album together titled, ‘Overlay’ released on Spieth’s label, Affin. Deep, rhythmic, and bathed in texture, it marked the next musical evolution and a harbinger of what is to come.

Enter ‘Conversion’. The seven tracker builds upon themes established in ‘Overlay’, a melding of layered textures and encompassing percussion, giving a sense of weight, heavy with emotion. Our premiere for today, Vortex smoothly enters the mind, with comforting pads, and a subtle uplifting notion. The warmth from the drone-like melodies is echoed into the steady muted kicks that provide an energetic boost to the track.

Vortex, and in turn ‘Conversion’ will be released on October 3rd via Affin.

Barcelona’s Obtuse Swamp has been building a catalog that values depth over immediacy, and its third release, Reef Stage EP, extends that approach. Ilayruni delivers five originals that follow different routes through polyrhythmic terrain and show a fascination with rhythm’s ability to bend perception, supported by remixes from o.utlier, Caldera, and Arsène Martinet. 

There’s a peculiar space on the dancefloor reserved for tracks that are neither peak-time weapons nor background textures, the zone where hypnosis sets in. Telepathy Tapes, our premiere for today, sits right in that territory. Its low-slung tempo carries real weight, yet the percussion feels meticulously carved, with each strike holding space rather than filling it. Vocal fragments drift through like subconscious prompts, keeping the groove alert even as it sinks into hypnosis. It’s music designed to pull dancers inward, less about release, more about the slow, steady locking of body and mind. 

The Reef Stage EP is set for release on September 30th.
