Our guest Helena Mrazkova, also known as kopi o, is an Indonesian Czech classical concert pianist, music student/instructor, model and DJ based in Aberdeen/Scotland. In this mix she plays speed electro, rap fusion and techno, and showcases some of her favourite artists, including Confidential Recipe, Mango, Club Cab and JB.

She got into DJing last christmas. Before then she was producing tracks for film and some kinetic art installations she had made. She was always into music but more on the 'acoustic' side of things - performing and competing in piano concerts, creating symphonies and orchestral pieces. As well as that, she played a lot of Gamelan on the side as she is half Indonesian and had access to these instruments (percussive, bronze metallic instruments) in South East Asia (Singapore and Indonesia). A lot of techno and electronic music in general is influenced by Gamelan, so that played a huge part in her DJing career.

You can check out her radio show mixes on soundcloud or tune in to her bi-monthly mixes on Checkyouraeri.al and Itsnotradio. As for gigs and shows, she regularly plays for Bohemia in Aberdeen and recently played for Cultivate Festival and Aberdeen nightclub Tunnels.

A regular at parties and festivals for 20 years Medusa never had the time or equipment to scratch the mixing/producing itch. When a beginners Ableton course for girls came up in Sheffield last summer she jumped at the opportunity. Following this she started recording mixes and having regular Ableton production lessons. She's been doing some live streaming and recording podcast/radio show guest mixes during lock down and has her first gig coming up once life starts up again. Watch this space!
