With inspiring musicality and a heady, sample-heavy aesthetic – Arure’s music evokes mysterious visions and tripped out vibes akin to the likes of Amon Tobin and Massive Attack, while rooted in styles as diverse as nu-jazz, dubstep, trip-hop, and IDM. Whether taking influence from trip-hop / experimental greats, or today’s pervading variants of “bass music”, the ‘Found Objects’ LP escapes strict categorization, and follows no singular blueprint. With each track, Arure explores new sonic spaces, cycling through constant new variations on a theme. With ‘Found Objects,’ Arure proves himself a capable producer, and a powerful new voice in electronic music.

Comme tout le monde le sait maintenant, une terrible guerre se déroule actuellement en Ukraine. Nous ne sommes ni milliardaires, ni soldats, ni dirigeants politiques, ni décideurs de l'OTAN, ni super-héros, …ni ONG. Nous ne sommes que des musiciens et artistes de différents horizons (France, États-Unis, Russie, Biélorussie Allemagne, Belgique) et, malheureusement, nous n'avons ni les moyens d'arrêter la guerre, ni de soutenir chaque personne en difficulté. 
Même si nous le déplorons franchement, nous pouvons au moins essayer de soutenir, à notre échelle et directement notre famille ukrainienne, le collectif d'artistes et label de musique "Modern Stalking Audio" (basé surtout à Kharkiv), en leur donnant les moyens de se mettre à l'abri, et de subvenir à leurs besoins essentiels en ces temps incroyablement difficiles. 
 
En temps normal, ces êtres merveilleux donnent tout ce qu’ils ont pour organiser des événements de qualité et se battent pour valoriser la culture en Ukraine. 
Nous sommes plusieurs artistes, présents sur cette compilation, à l’avoir constaté quand nous avons été invités à nous produire là-bas, à Kharkiv, Odessa, parfois plusieurs fois pour certains. 

Aujourd’hui, la plupart de nos ami.e.s sont soit réfugié.e.s où ils le peuvent (avec pour interdiction pour les hommes de 18-60 ans de quitter le territoire), soit en train de lutter à leur manière et d’aider, au péril de leur vie, dans les grandes villes et frontières. 

Après les avoir aidé.e.s selon nos moyens, nous sortons cette compilation pour toutes celles et ceux qui souhaitent les soutenir. Chaque don, même le plus petit, sera le bienvenu. Nous n'avons pas la prétention (et n'avons pas les moyens) de faire un travail comparable à la Croix-Rouge ou d'autres ONG, cependant, tous les gains issus de ces démarches seront reversés directement par virement bancaire à nos amis pour les aider à notre échelle, tout comme ceux issus de la cagnotte associée.

À noter également que l'aide humanitaire internationale reste pour l'instant essentiellement à la frontière et n'arrive pas (ou très peu) dans les grandes villes qui sont sous les bombardements...

Requiem is also a short film, Filastine threw a funeral party for the age of materialism in Cairo’s squatted necropolis, the City of the Dead. Sixty Cycle Drum’s pumping lo-fi organs quickly transform into the album’s most danceable track, flirting with the hyper cadences of footwork. Listeners will swoon for Murka’s gorgeous pentatonic vocal melody and string arrangement.
The 808-propelled trap rhythm of Drone Silences may be this album’s nearest reference to any recognizable genre, albeit with a spacious dub sensibility that places it far, far, away from brostep’s yankee heartland. The title of this last track is a nod to the cover art, a Reaper drone painted in Pakistani truck-art motifs by Mahwish Chishty.
Aphasia can be ordered now as limited edition cassette tape. On the flipside is LAWANLUPA, Filastine & Nova’s mixtape inspired by the recent documentary film The Act of Killing. Downloads and the 10” vinyl are available from June 23rd. All can be had directly from the artist’s Bandcamp page.

Grey Filastine is a multimedia artist dedicated to undermining borders. His music collides electronic beat production with dense layers of voice, concréte sounds, and strings. Pitchfork says it “sounds less like `world’ music and more like music from another world.” Another world is exactly what he aims to create, using sound, video, and dance to express a radically different vision of the possible. 
Filastine’s higher education is limited to driving a taxi in the United States, where he also founded the Infernal Noise Brigade marching band to live score the 1999 revolt against the WTO in Seattle. In 2006 DJ/Rupture released Filastine’s premiere album, Burn It!, which relocated him to Barcelona and launched a decade of releases and tours. His latest AV effort, Abandon, is a video series profiling dances of emancipation, filmed in locations from coal mines in Borneo to office cubicles in America.
Filastine is foremost a performing artist, where sound, image, and ideas are embodied. He is constantly on tour, appearing at festivals like Sonar (ES), Sydney Festival (AU), Downtown Cairo Arts (EG), Decibel (US), Foreign Affairs (DE) and Mutek Tokyo (JP). But Filastine’s work sometimes doesn’t fit any stage or category, his off-piste interventions include an official mixtape for The Act of Killing documentary, a Sound Swarm at the Paris Climate Summit, or a concert in the Calais Jungle migrant camp.
