Was Lan Was — Global Psychedelic Plugged-in Kinder Poops-n-Pops Vinyl

Guennady Alexandrov was a music editor for Tadzhikfilm studio's. Among the movies he scored are the Shererezade trilogy films made by Takhir Sabirov in the 80s. These are beautifully shot desert movies with cool special effects, shiny costumes, voluminous beards, well bred horses, dreamy romances and lovely day-for-night scenes. The songs were oddly enough typical sentimental Russian fare but the dance and fight sequences are musically some of the most lushly contrived Arabesques with pounding bass, hypnotic flutes and swirling strings. The mix is beefed up by Indian musical 1001 nights fantasies.

TAJIK SATELITE

This is a special March 9th upload, as tonight the Worm Moon will appear in the sky, It's the last full moon of winter which tidal pull lures out earthworms from their wintersleep attracting the strangest nightly birds and cat beasts to feast on them. The selection therefore is all exactly from the Tropic of Cancer,  the most northerly circle of latitude on Earth at which the sun can be directly overhead. All of this results in an eclectic mix, perfect for a full moon ceremony, depending on the apogee and perigee of your specific location. Expect psychedelic tracks from Egypt, Pakistan, India, Indonesia, the Mexican gulf and more.

This mix was firstly distributed around the same time in 2010, as part of the anual Waxidermy mix swap.

A special episode of all Cabo Verde music coming to us via Paris, France through the DJ, collector and travelling soundsystem captain @rckhmlegroove.  Here's his words on today’s episode:

The mix focuses on Cabo Verde music and spans from the early 70’s to the 00’s. It is composed as a journey within a wide range of typical genres from the island, like coladera, morna, or funana, but also pop, reggae and funk.
It started smoothly but escalate step by step to fast paced track, some of which are tested and approved on the dancefloor.. For those who can keep up with the pace!

Rackham Le Groove is a DJ from Paris, who is part of various music collectives. He also curates the youtube channel Back for More.
In parallel, he drives a van sound system (www.instagram.com/rackham_le_groove/) that go countryside and festivals in France to spread the good music.
His focuses mainly on African, Caribbean and South American music, from the old gems he found digging during his trips to the more recent music to create a varied atmosphere of warm groove.

Behold Finders Keepers, a British record label, 40 years in the making, introducing fans of psychedelic, jazz, folk, funk, avant-garde and whacked-out movie musak to a lost world of undiscovered vinyl artifacts from the annals of alternative pop history.

Catering to record collectors and DJ-producers alike with a huge emphasis on sample friendly soundscapes, rocksteady back-beats and primitive electronic experimentalism. Discerning purveyors of the bizarre and abnormal should expect the Japanese choreography records, space-age Turkish protest songs, Czechoslovakian vampire soundtracks, Welsh rare-beats, bubblegum folk, drugsploitation operatics, banned British crime thrillers and celebrity Gallic Martini adverts... presented on CD, 7" and traditional black plastic discs in authentic packaging.

Following in the very same footsteps as the mind boggling "Music To Watch	Girls Cry" and "Songs In The Key Of Death" mix CDs for Fat City Records and the original 5-star rated Finders Keepers compilation LP in 2001, Manc-based vinyl-vulture, recording artist and record producer Andy Votel enlists the skills of fellow B-Music DJ and Rare Disc Detective Doug Shipton to form a team of psychedelic librarians and cosmic-pop-quiz-elitists to run their new Twisted Nerve distant sister-label, leaving no progressive pebble unturned or record collection un-rifled.

Future compilations and re-issues will feature collaborative curators such as David Holmes, Cherrystones and Bob Stanley and further contributions from mystery A- / B+ pop-celebrity fanatics of outsider music and ultra-rare bakelite discs. Finders Keepers is an 'accidental world music label' with a punk aesthetic and DJ friendly ethos which allows the desperate listener to sit back while we deliver schizoid cultural channel-hopping compilations and rocking-horse-shit & hen's-teeth re-releases to the comfort of your psych-starved living room...
