Between me and my guest we covered a pleasing 42 tracks in two hours on this episode, with 20 quick fire bangers from me in the first 60 minutes - leaning heavily on some stuff I’ve downloaded very recently but spanning the ages as usual.

My guest this time comes from Rotterdam. Lenzz is a Dutch DJ who has his own long-running show Lenzzie’s Nu-Grooves. He’s been a frequent supporter of my tracks - something that I’m really grateful for. And what’s more he’s really impressed me with his recent guest mix appearances on other shows I like such as Feel Good Fridays, Disco Waltons Sunday Service and Spin City. He also happens to be a lovely guy who I had the pleasure of meeting at ADE last year. So I just had to invite him on the show, and he’s impressed once again with a whirlwind selection of no fewer than 22 very fine funky tunes, including a couple of mine and an edit from him! The Smashed Atoms Dub leaps out as an expertly de-constructed version of the original. The dreamy, filtered vocals and echo attack ebbs and flows perfectly, whilst the beat, bass and synth loops massage your aural senses into submission. 

Next comes the Adam Nova Remix, which from the get-go wants to beat you into dance floor submission.  The hard, driving disco bass, solid 4x4 beat and slick rhythm guitar transports you to that time and place where you’re throwing your hands in the air with complete strangers. Closing this incredible release is equally incredible I Gemin remix. Like a Roisin Murphy fever dream, I Gemin takes us on a swingy, squelchy, housey rollercoaster that tingles, delights and astounds with its bare faced cheek. Definitely one for the ‘dance until dawn’ heads out there. 

With the 2023 remixes of ‘Lifted’ Hot Digits has pushed the envelope yet again and the label continues its seemingly endless supply of quality productions.
