For ‘Brought You Together’, Ben Jamin ventures up to 101bpm Avenue territory and into the best piano bar in town. The sultry, smoky vocals elevate this one well above your average downtempo groove, with a chorus that deserves the best romantic montage ever committed to film. 

Staying in the 101 range, ‘Mama’ has all the elements needed for a vintage slow-speed chugger that’s driven by a classy, shimmering Memphis soul vibe heavy on the blues and liberal with the rhythm. Just come to mama – you know you want to. 

When we pop ‘Next Door’ the tempo drops just a little and takes us into a straight up funk laden love letter to the likes of Marlena Shaw and Aretha. Strikingly sassy, ‘Next Door’ pops it’s rhythm like buttons slowly being undone. More sexy stuff from Mr Jamin. 

‘Three Steps’ gets us all feeling warm and Chaka – an almost mid-tempo funk/R&B throbber that smells and sounds divine. This is a recovery programme we can all get on board with, three steps to your heart and it’ll all be ok. One for opening the night!
