After stepping back from the scene to pursue other creative ventures, and a move to atlanta is where Wahine’s love for music reignited when she discovered Atlanta’s “small but mighty” and deeply inclusive music scene and community. That spark led her back to the booth with renewed purpose — culminating in a celebrated international debut at Defected Croatia, following that she is regular guest mixes to radio shows, from all over the radio spectrum promoting new exclusive music to the masses, hostess with the mostest on an award winning show spin city and her own passionradio ibiza mthly jam on the white isles its spread far and wide then local atlanta the launch of her signature event series Wahine’s Hideaway, where tropical disco, tiki energy, and community spirit combine. It’s WEEK 22 of The Disco Waltons Mix Sessions – and this week we’ve only gone and landed the bezzer himself Fingerman (aka Gregg Holmes)!
Hailing from Portsmouth, via Brighton and now firmly holding court in Belfast, Gregg’s a certified disco don. He’s the daddy behind Hot Digits Music (and vinyl offshoot Wax Digits) — a label responsible for more dancefloor weapons than your local dodgy Firestick dealer. Since the early days, he’s been chopping, looping, and reworking tunes with that signature touch — and his edits have been championed by the best in the biz.
Gregg’s a hardworking, top-shelf editor, producer, label boss, radio host, and all-round top geezer. Two hours is nowhere near enough — but it’s just the right amount of time for Fingerman to take us on a proper journey. Expect chunky mid-tempo rollers, slick reworks, nu-disco stompers, and groove-heavy edits that sneak up on you — BOOM — those classic tones that give you that nostalgic tickle right up the nostrils.

Ben Jamin – Cosmic Miracles 3 (HOTDIGITS130)

Ben Jamin checks into the Hot Digits chalet once again with Cosmic Miracles 3, a sumptuous slow-mo 5 tracker that will warm the cockles of your heart. 

‘Baby’ occupies that very special sweet spot where low BPMs and ‘melty’ basslines merge with dubby brass and acid flicks. Make no mistake, this is serious boudoir music that undresses you with its eyes and beckons you into the shadows whilst the electrified, soulful vocals bend your mind. Stunning. 

For ‘Brought You Together’, Ben Jamin ventures up to 101bpm Avenue territory and into the best piano bar in town. The sultry, smoky vocals elevate this one well above your average downtempo groove, with a chorus that deserves the best romantic montage ever committed to film. 

Staying in the 101 range, ‘Mama’ has all the elements needed for a vintage slow-speed chugger that’s driven by a classy, shimmering Memphis soul vibe heavy on the blues and liberal with the rhythm. Just come to mama – you know you want to. 

When we pop ‘Next Door’ the tempo drops just a little and takes us into a straight up funk laden love letter to the likes of Marlena Shaw and Aretha. Strikingly sassy, ‘Next Door’ pops it’s rhythm like buttons slowly being undone. More sexy stuff from Mr Jamin. 

‘Three Steps’ gets us all feeling warm and Chaka – an almost mid-tempo funk/R&B throbber that smells and sounds divine. This is a recovery programme we can all get on board with, three steps to your heart and it’ll all be ok. One for opening the night! 

Cosmic Miracles 3 is exactly what Hot Digits is all about - sexy, alluring and irresistible. This 5 track EP brings the tempo down perfectly for the long winter nights and demands you stay in the warmth.

The Black Light Disco Show steams into the My House Radio harbour with a cargo hold full of disco, house and damn fine boogie beans to start your week off with a bang. 

The BLD Wheel of Destiny has spun around once again to our stalwart residents Esteban & Cole Kutz, who have another spectacular show lined up full of the usual twists, turns, chicanes and rabbit holes.
