Goz  Doc & Wahine - Best of 2022 on Spin City

Black Light Disco returned to the Myhouseradio.fm airwaves with a show that’s literally baking in its own juices! It’s been hot out there, folks and we have a real late summer vibe to chill your mind and cool your beans.

Hosting the show this week is our resident Esteban, who has been trawling the music library here in BLD Towers for mid-tempo delights which smell of late August haze and beer gardens. Lined up are tracks from The Magic Track, Phonk D, Jisco Dazz, Kristoff MX, Never Dull and Cuz Electric / Rough Diamond. 

Our very special guest this week enjoys that rare ‘legendary’ status as a producer and DJ - the one and only Oldchap! 

Hailing from France, Oldchap has been a staple of the disco and edits scene over the last 6 years. The guy is a ‘crate digger extraordinaire’ (which we of course love) and his mantra of always playing the right track at the right time is something we can all get on board with too. As a producer, Oldchap has an impressive list of labels under his belt including Spa In Disco, Hot Digits, Slightly Transformed, Sundries Digital and Spin Cat music. We’re delighted to welcome him for his BLD debut and know you’re going to be blown away by this.

For this episode I focussed purely on stuff I’ve bought or been given in the last couple of weeks… i dunno, maybe I was feeling too lazy to switch to a different folder or something. Anyway, that’s not to say it was all brand new music, there were a couple of oldies in amongst the promos and various new and new-ish gems that have recently been added to my collection. 

For hour 2 I handed over the controls to JayLee, a DJ, radio host and all round lovely guy who I had the pleasure of finally meeting a few months back. Jay has kindly played my stuff a few times on his shows, and he even squeezed one of my tracks into his guest mix alongside some choice, classy disco cuts. This week, we were opening up the new Sonic Utilities and Acquisitions Room here in BLD Towers, where our resident Goz set up to host this week’s show. Goz has accessed his mind palace full of uptempo diddles which will get your feet tapping and your shoulders shimmying. 

For the second hour, we have a superb set from our very special guests this week, NFC & Key Sokur! 

NFC & Key Sokur is the combination of producers/DJs Nelson Cuberli (NFC) and Leandro Sokur (Key Sokur). This duo, based in Playa del Carmen, Mexico are strongly influenced by Funk, Disco, Soul & Afro music. Their live sets are usually filled with their own productions -  fusing musical instruments with bass and arrangements originating in House music. They’ve seen releases on some of the most influential labels ranging from About Disco Records, Furious Mandrill, Deep Sense, Editorial Records, Tropical Disco, Rare Wiri, Moiss Music and Hive Label to name but a few. 

We’re delighted to welcome this talented duo on board for their BLD debut and know you're going to love what they've done for us here.
