The dynamic duo of Mishell Ivon and renowned producer Vincent Kwok are back with their latest release, “Shining Star” – a vibrant, uplifting track that rekindles the nostalgic magic of the 80s. The inspiration for "Shining Star" stems from Mishell Ivon and Vincent Kwok's shared love for the joyful and optimistic spirit of the 80s. Both artists grew up surrounded by the era’s uplifting melodies and danceable beats, and they wanted to capture that same energy in a song that feels both nostalgic and contemporary.

For Mishell Ivon, the song's message of self-confidence and resilience was central. "We wanted to write something that reminds people to embrace their inner light, no matter what life throws at them," she explains. "The 80s were a time when music was full of life, color, and fun – and that’s exactly the feeling we wanted to bring back with 'Shining Star.'"

Vincent Kwok's production approach was rooted in paying homage to the classic sounds of the era while giving them a modern twist. "The lush synths, groovy basslines, and catchy hooks of 80s music have always been a huge influence for me," he says. "With 'Shining Star,' we wanted to evoke that nostalgia, but also make it fresh for today’s listeners, blending old-school influences with new-school techniques."

It’s the year 1988 and the Summer Olympics are being held in Seoul, South Korea. The Goethe Institut is in charge of the German cultural contribution and, together with the Kunstdisco Seoul, creates a mix of architecture, theater, dance, performance and music.

The Stroer Bothers, Hans Peter and Ernst, are responsible for the musical curation and release of a limited 12” vinyl that has been unavailable for a while.
Now the rare Kustdisco Seoul Ouvertüre record has been reissued. The original recording tapes have been mixed and remastered once again in addition to brand new remixes, including ours.

Koolade, a producer/beatmaker from Croatia, most likely known for his works with hip hop legends such as Masta Ace, Ghostface Killah, Masta Killa, Diamond D, Saddat X, Sean Price, Tony Touch, and many others, comes back around with another solo project.
Lately he's been into future funk, alternative hip hop, lo fi and future beats, and his music is being recognized by many renowned DJs and radio shows all over the world such as Joe Kay of Soulection, Walla P of Voyage Funktastique, We Funk, XL Middleton and many others...

This time around he comes with an eclectic disco/house/funk project making that four to the floor work his own way. Released by already mentioned label/radio show/brand Voyage Funktastique, this project is taking a bit of a turn towards a more eclectic route, using soulful chords, gospel-like progressions and thumpy funk bass lines, while keeping the beat 4x4. The album title is "The Hop", including track names such as "The Bop", "The Wop" and "The Pop" to remind you to keep dancing.
