The penultimate Louder Than Chaos has Soma’s techno titans Slam (@paragraph)join force with Belgium’s finest export, @amelielens . A collaboration a long time in the making, the Glasgow duo of Stuart McMillan & Orde Meikle bring their trademark crafts, melding it perfectly with Amelie’s driving synth lines. The output is three outstanding dancefloor killers combining both artists’ unique and powerful styles.

The dark and driving ‘Uncontrolled’ opens Vol. 4 perfectly as steamrolling bass and punchy, rhythmic percussion lead to an ominous and twisting synth hook that propels this track skyward. Keeping the momentum going, ‘Clarity’ instantly has an old school groove at its heart that gradually builds into a searing acid hook that cleverly disguises dynamic melodic elements. Closing out the EP is ‘Construct’ that shows no mercy coming out the block with a supercharged low end and electrified synths, dropping down into an expertly crafted, dynamic breaks & bass heavy breakdown before slamming back in with huge energy.

Helle Momente flackern kurz auf – wie letzte Zeichen von Zuversicht, bevor alles kippt. Doch bleibt die Frage: Sind es wirklich Lichtblicke – oder nur flüchtige Flammen vor dem Fall? „Flickers Before the Fall?“ stellt kein Urteil, sondern lässt das Ungewisse hörbar werden – zwischen Widerstand und Hingabe.

A dark, atmospheric track that captures the inner split between fragile hope and the inevitability of darkness. Fleeting lights shimmer through the weight–soft traces of something brighter, or just the final flickers before the fall? The track doesn’t answer, but asks: Flickers Before the Fall? A sound suspended between resistance and surrender.

Berlin-based Irish artist Hybrasil returns to Rekids with four murky techno cuts in ‘We Don’t Flip’.

Having made numerous appearances on Rekids including ‘Embers’, his debut album released last year, Hybrasil has become a core artist on Matt Edwards’s label when not releasing on his very own eponymous imprint. Reflecting on an amazingly creative 2019, at the start of this year Hybrasil set a new creative path for his future live shows, writing new music that received regular support from Radio Slave, which is what ultimately shaped this new four-track release.

‘We Don’t Flip’ opens the package with an immediate shadowy aesthetic before rattling kicks, off-beat hats and snappy snares lay down the groove as distorted vocal murmurs join delayed synths. ‘Hour Glass’ is next with its syncopated rhythm and quivering pads before ‘Ikigai’ takes things into wonkier territories courtesy of subtle melodies, metallic atmospherics and dubby chords. Tying everything together, ‘System H’ takes things up a notch, adding extra oomph to the package using powerful drums, rippling bass and deep stabs.
