Golnaz Bashiri is a multidisciplinary artist who has worked in a self established underground environment in Tehran, Iran.
Since 2013 she has been working on overcoming the social-political limitations that block the access to a wider range of audiences by creating a mutual communication between the viewer and the artwork. Stepping beyond conceptual boundaries and established structures, her work explores the role of presence of viewer on the persistence of art and the artist. Based on academic education in Drama (BA Set and Costume Design from Faculty of Art and Architecture in Azad University Central Tehran Branch in 2011) and her experiences in diverse theatrical employments since 2008, she combines the theatrical elements body, stage and text with sound, light, video and textile. Her installations draw attention to the intercommunicative relation between audio-visual media and the viewer.
Golnaz continues her researches by studying MA Art &Science at University of Applied Arts in Vienna-Austria.
Today she investigates the possibilities of aesthetic elements like form, color or phoneme as methods of common healing, similar to therapeutic activities.
