Been about a month since the last song.  I chose this song from SSBM because a good chunk of songs from the game were actually recorded with a live orchestra.  This one was never given the live instrument treatment so I decided to give it a go.  

I'm starting to get really close to 150 songs so I'm going to have to get a certain project going pretty soon.  As I've said in the past, I'm not going anywhere.  The songs just don't come out as fast anymore.

This is one of those songs that stretched me as a musician. I had the privilege of working alongside Andrew and Justin for this piece (OA and Nutritious, respectively), and they each contributed completely essential parts.

Andrew contributed all the guitar work (so metal!), some strings, some background percussion, some sound effects and some synthy bits. Justin added some of the main drums, some sound effects, some more strings, and a bit of bass wubbles here and there.

This comes from the Donkey Kong Country 3 remix album that I had such a huge hand in over at OverClocked ReMix (ocremix.org). This is one of my favorites from the album just because it was so much fun to make! I sampled the original song's harmonica, added some of my own beatboxing, and then mixed in a generous portion of thumpin' beats and groovy synths. Enjoy!

One of my favourite video game music tracks, this epic tune can be heard when moving around the main menu and choosing characters for the ultimate battle between you and your friends.

Who knew that out of this little experiment everything else in my life involving Music Composition followed after?
