Familia, herencia, propiedad y desigualdad son elementos clave de la organización capitalista. Comprender su desarrollo histórico es esencial para entender las características, singularidades y declinaciones propias en cada territorio, así como las consecuencias derivadas de las mismas. Los sistemas hereditarios, en el contexto español, son esencialmente familiaristas y responden a desarrollos regionales específicos. En esta sesión profundizaremos sobre estos sistemas familiares, la organización del cuidado y sus responsabilidades, el papel del matrimonio, el reparto de género y la relación de todos ellos con la propiedad y la herencia. A partir de la definición de las principales características del sistema de heredero único que predominaba en casi todo el norte de España y del sistema igualitario que predominaba en el resto, y el papel de hombres y mujeres en cada uno de ellos.
