I have been collecting records since i was 17 and started dj'ing at 19,i had a regular weekend slot at The Blackboy Inn East London playing rare groove and jazz funk with early rnb.using one turntable and a headset made from a converted bakerlite telephone..summer months were spent spinning tunes down on the thames at chertsey..everyone in the carpark jamming.. I then had a chance of a two hour slot on virgin records instore radio/ studio in oxford street six days a week in the late 80,s.job done and it was this that enabled me to craft my skills as a dj on the turntables...before moving into the house scene and the underground/ warehouse partys.Some of these were amazing events and to be part of them was and will always be very special.....lots of grinning, happy boys and girls dancing untill the sun comes up... I then opened up a record shop and small instore studio which allowed dj's and mc's to put down demo's etc aswell as a weekly internet radio show.
.   .For me the early 1990's to 2005 had the biggest impact on the dance music scene and in my opinion dance music has lost some of its individuality due to to mass flooding of commercial producers/labels.
Saying that there are some great dj's  and producers around who still mange to create a wiggle your butt move your feet set / track. Long live house music !!!

Since Tom’s debut release on Sudup Recordings in 2009, he has had a string of deep house tracks and remixes on Lost My Dog Records, UM Records, Savoir Faire Musique, 3am Recordings, DeepWit Recordings and 5 & Dime Recordings. hi, i have been producing/writing tunes for over 30yrs,under the name Medicine Man , i have been djing on the underground club scene since ,(THE SUMMER OF LOVE!!!), as DJ HOUSEDOCTOR. I have always been around music since those heady days of stop/start taping of pirate radio stations....(very useful for developing editing techniques.)...Early influences were moog based /synth sounds ,fat baselines,and rhythm guitar licks ,eg nile rodgers,brass construction ,fatback,bootzy collins,and of course the late great GODFATHER OF SOUL.(JAMES BROWN)...basically anything WITH FUNK!...Then came ELECTRO,again synth based sounds ,eg gary newman,kraftwerk,omd,new order........... dj..d @various underground parties HOUSE OF HONEY ..TENDER/FLY/KIMBERLEY/GOLDEN DELICIOUS/SUNNY-SIDE UP/MY FRONT ROOM,MY WEDDING!DARBY&JOAN, ET AL . musical influences again very varied ,love , breaks,deep house, melodic trance,funky house,and, and .... basically everything !! which hopefully is reflected in my tunes !

Greetings House Music Lovers.

I have been DJing for 27 years and buying music for 35 years, I started listening to my parents Motown collection in the mid-seventies as a child which started me on my musical journey.  Then I started buying 60’s, northern-soul, and rare-grooves and going to northern-soul and funk all-dayer’s from the age of 11.

Then in 1988, as the house music phenomena exploded i started going to Danny Rampling's Shoom club which started my love for Chicago and New-York house music, and Balearic beats.  This was the best club experience in London at that time -that’s only my opinion. I was also going to Phuture and Rage at Heaven nightclub regularly. They were amazing times.

I had developed the disease of a vinyl addict, spending all my money on house music.  Then I started to learn to mix, and by 1988 I was playing records in clubs in London and all over England.  It was in 1990 I got a residency at the Astoria, playing alongside Richie Fingers, Normski, and Frankie Bones to name but a few.
I played regularly at the funky Indulge parties, in Brixton, and have done parties for UB40 and The Levellers and at many outdoor festivals and beach-parties through the mid-nineties.

After, I started Bliss Records, a dance music shop in Eltham, London.  I started to make and produce house music, releasing a bunch of tracks under Bliss Beats and DJ Tony O, also getting accepted by the Label Spinners DJ agency run by Steve Good Goddard.  A lot of the top named DJ's were on this agency.  I played on Upfront FM and Select UK, doing regular shows and then, more recently, playing sets at Pacha, London. 

So there is a little of my DJ history. 

My style of DJing is top quality produced house only!  It has to be music, by that I mean lots of layers of sound, big fat bass-lines, lots of percussion, and inspirational lyrics.  Music that moves your spirit as well as your body move, that’s my philosophy.  House music is a feeling, it’s a vibe that can take you to higher dimensions of total euphoria, and that is what I try to create when I play my grooves.

I truly love what I do, always playing with lots of passion and energy and soul and always play for the crowd. I play one good record after another and have been described as a DJ that you cannot stop dancing too. I have played from 1hr to 24hr marathon DJ sets, whether I play tech-house or deep-house there is always an element of funk within, whatever style that I play -sounds that make you feel good.
