After a short break we're back with episode #62 of our Schimmer Podcast Series selected and mixed by Franz Jäger.

Franz is a long-time member of the collective, known for his minimal and groove-driven approach to techno. For this mix, he brings together mostly unreleased tracks from himself and friends, creating a seamless flow between hypnotic rhythms, subtle textures, and deep, driving grooves. The selection moves between introspective passages and peak-time energy, balancing minimal elegance with tactile, dancefloor-ready patterns. Border One, one of the leading figures of the Belgian techno sound that became a movement in Europe, has released on world-class labels like Token and SK_eleven. He now presents the 31st release of LDG. The release features remixes by LDG founders YUTA and O-MA, and Shinsuke Goto, whose remix marks his debut.

Exosignal by Border One is crafted with his main principle in mind "making the audience dance". The track is set to LDG’s signature mid-tempo, with sudden pads creating a unique and dreamy development, showcasing true craftsmanship.

The YUTA/O-MA REMIX is mid-tempo minimal techno with a distinct bassline, sharp hi-hats, percussive yet groovy elements, and subtle, refined techniques.

Shinsuke Goto’s REMIX, his debut track, is high-energy yet deep, layering a wavering lo-fi feel with tape-modular-like sounds, creating an addictive, immersive, and trippy modern techno.

Mastering is done by techno legend Peter Van Hoesen. BETA07, blending the refined and beautiful sound that LDG pursues, will be released 5 November.

Border OneによるExosignalは、彼が最も念頭におく「オーディエンスを踊らせることを最優先に」という理念の元、LDGが得意とするミドルテンポに落とし込み、突如として現れるパッドが幻想的かつ独特の展開を魅せる、まさに職人芸といった作品となっている。

YUTA/O-MAが手掛けるREMIXは、特徴的なベースラインが全体を支え、切れ味のあるハイハット、硬さもありながらパーカッシブでグルービー、燻し銀な技が際立つミッドテンポのミニマルテクノ。

今回が自身のデビュートラックとなるShinsuke GotoのREMIXは、ハイエナジーでありながらもディープな特性を全面に押し出し、揺らめくLo-fi感とテープモジュラーのような音を重ね、中毒的で陶酔感あふれるトリッピーなモダンテクノ。

マスタリングはテクノレジェンドPeter Van Hoesenが担当、LDGが追求する渋さと美しさが共存した本作BETA07、11/5にリリース！

At this point a regular contributor in defining Token’s sound, Border One steps up for his sixth EP on the label in five years. As in many of his past projects, ‘Where is Now’ bleeds characte r through effect for a trip on the dance floor. 

‘Time Drift’ reaffirms his minimalist approach to the EP, only inviting anxious drum sequences with rising rides in the second half. The portal opens steadily in ‘Time Drift’, establishing a slightly more meditative tone than he’s done in the past.

The complete TWR72 - Lucid release wasn’t enough so it gets a remix treatment by Psyk, Henning Baer, ROD, Neznan and TWR72 itself. 

Psyk kicks off with a tom based space out remix of Lucid. Heavy soundscapes and pads are layered over the fine rhythm of toms. Henning Baer takes care of Aporia with a weird metal loop kinda vibe and a straight forward beat rhythm to keep the speed. TWR72 gave Colloquial a groovy treatment. With minimal, filtered and slightly oldskool elements they changed the original parts into a little killer. Talking about minimal, on the flipside ROD delivers greatness on Lucid with his cut and slide technique. Neznan closes the EP in style; because his style is impeccable. When you thought you’ve heard it all, Neznan jumps in. An experimental take on Erudite is what you get. And like always, there are hidden messages in his music.
