Second State will drop its next various artists' compilation this summer featuring 12 artists from today’s techno scene, showcasing their individual sound and production skills. The 11 tracks each incorporate elements from techno sub-genres to create a varied and intoxicating release from the Berlin imprint, welcoming Second State regulars and new names alike to continue paving the way for the label’s sound. 

Returning to Second State is Yotam Avni, who opens the record with the dynamically layered ‘Panic’. The breakdowns of this track switch up during its flow, varying in intensity as it progresses. Valentinø and My Flower hasten the pace with ‘Lightfire’, packed with minimal drumwork, booming bass and phased bursts of ethereal keys. Up next is Simon Stiglmeier with a piece of kaleidoscopic techno in ‘Dancy’, complete with a grooving vocal synth. SOTO follows with enveloping bass and rippling synth waves in ‘Core’, whilst Techno live band Komfortrauschen power on with a warbling bassline and whirring atmospherics with ‘Each Second’. 

‘Subconscious Reset’ from Juliet Fox contributes a barrage of alarms and sharp, chilling synths that echo menacingly throughout, followed by Isabel Soto with pulsating cut ‘Momentum’ - a stripped back, down-tempo roller. Gutto Serta takes listeners down a rabbit hole with trippy cut ‘Maximize’, with airy pads whispering underneath bleeps and a sultry vocal sample. Building the record to crescendo is Dextro’s booming and raucous track ‘Omonoia’, with razor sharp hoover sounds and an earth-shattering kick & hi-hat combo. Maintaining the powerful energy is Daryl Stay with his propulsive weapon ‘Phalanx’, followed by the final track from Avision, ‘Tunnel’, featuring playful synth and acid lines that bounce over the phased percussion, and a shift in pitch to build the track’s intensity.

Samuel L Session and Van Czar drop a four-track techno EP on Unrilis that showcases a deeper and more hypnotic sound with dystopian atmosphere and driving percussion.

Rino Cerrone launched the Unrilis record label over 15 years ago, and part of the label's back catalogue is its iconic Rilis series. 2022 sees the relaunch of the Rilis series that has a focus on underground DJ tools with raw analogue sounds.

The Rilis series was originally launched in 1999, and was restricted to a concept on only 10 releases, each pressing a limited run of vinyl. It was hugely popular with each one often selling out in only a week and picking up DJ support by people ranging from Jeff Mills to Richie Hawtin.

Those first 10 releases were focused on Rino Cerrone's own music, but since his retirement from the industry, the revitalised Rilis series will welcome other artists whose sound matches the label's underground concept.

This latest release in the Rilis series features collaborative tracks by Samuel L Session and Van Czar who have previously teamed up for releases on other imprints ranging from Marco Bailey's MB Elektronics to Ben Sims' Hardgrooves.

Both are also successful solo artists, Sweden's Samuel L Session being well-known for his headline DJ sets at clubs around the world, along with the music he has released via iconic imprints such as Slam's Soma, Shlomi Aber's Be As One, Len Faki's Figure and Emmanuel's ARTS plus his own imprints SLS, Cycle, New Soil, and Klap Klap

Belgium's Van Czar is also an accomplished DJ who is well-established across Europe and he has also released music on respected record labels ranging from Kevin Saunderson's KMS Records as well as the classic imprint, Yin Yang.

"Air Raid" opens the release with its eerie pads, spine-tingling melody loop and machine-driven percussion. It's got a raw aesthetic with dramatic claps and snare fills that add to the building suspense.

"18-022" is a dark and stripped back track with modulating synth textures layered with fast-flowing high-end percussion. Its pounding kick drum and clap rhythms add rigid structure to its expansive atmosphere and dance floor focused groove.

"Route 200" has thrashing cymbals punishing claps and rippling pads that create a stripped back groove submerged in deep atmosphere. Rich with analogue textures and gritty sound design, its relentless energy is tailor made for club sound systems.

"Objectivism" closes out the release with it's funky bassline and bleeping melody. Whirling textures and fluttering percussion maintain an unrelenting tension that's driven forward by the pounding kick drum.

Markantonio’s AnalyticTrail continues its Black Series with a raw techno release by Turkish artist Procombo.

Procombo joins AnalyticTrail following music on other scene leading record labels ranging from Coyu's Suara to Radio Slave's RSPX and this release features five of his original tracks.

Fusing high-velocity rhythms with analogue sounds and hypnotic synth lines, this immersive release has a brooding intensity that's perfect for the dance floor.

"Predator" opens the release with its bleeping melodies and thrashing high-end percussion, before the raw funk and jackin' groove of "Outsiders" takes hold. "Look Around" has a stripped back groove with looped vocals and fast-flowing percussion. "Main Driver" is a percussive track with modulating synths and "Cheer Up" closes out the release with its trippy vocals.

LF RMX is a new series, exclusively featuring edits and remixes originally made by Len Faki for use in his own DJ sets. Now releasing them to a wider audience, the second edition presents two complementary contrasting versions of ‘Deep In’ by Stephen Brown. 

Sticking to the strengths of the source material, Faki’s sleek polish makes the centerpiece acid bassline and playful cut-up vocal stand out from the mix even more. Already quite a force to begin with, the momentum only keeps growing as oldschool drum breaks and additional percussion roll in. 

The original’s linear progression is traded for murky, modulating analog squelches on the Deepspace Mix, turning the tune into a dubby late-night groover, which still holds some surpises in store. 

As with all releases of the non-profit platform that is LF RMX, the proceeds of this record will be forwarded to the Berlin organization Straßenkinder e.V. to be used in actions against child poverty.

Florian Meindl is a multi-talented and multi-faceted artist, who is renowned for his technical
prowess.
Producing for over fourteen years, Florian has become known for his deep, grooving powerful
techno. His productions are characterised by his love of analog, which represent his true signature
sound.
2006 saw the inception of Florian’s label FLASH Recordings. The label showcases Florian’s musical
vision, reflects his taste and gives him tracks for his DJ Mixes. A platform for artists that Florian
likes, FLASH has had over 130 releases already including tracks from Heron, Electric Rescue, Jamie
Anderson, Alignment, Hans Bouffmyhre & Avgusto.
In May 2015 Florian released his second solo album ‘Collide’ to critical acclaim. The album was
clearly influenced by Florian’s transition from producing almost entirely digitally for thirteen years
to recording mainly analog jamming sessions and editing the end results after on the computer. The
technical aspect is integral to Florian’s musical journey that he takes the listener on. His talent lies
in enabling the machines to speak and groove, to connect with them and create sounds and
patterns.
In addition to solo releases and numerous collaborations with international artists, and remixing the
likes of Hot Chip & Royksopp, Florian is busy with his sound design brand Riemann Kollektion and
Riemann Modular which is his new studio gear company specializing in Eurorack Modules.
As a DJ, live performer, studio producer and sound designer, Florian has over the years established
an impressive producing base for himself in his Berlin based Riverside Studio complex with an
exciting hardware set up including Modular Systems, an analog mixing desk as well as classic
machines like Roland 909.
After fourteen years of international performances and production, Florian has developed a special
connection with his analog equipment, letting them speak for him in music where words just aren’t
possible. His third album will be released in February 2017 in combination with a worldwide full
analog live act tour.
