Words from the artist: "I’ve never recorded such a long studio mix before and since we all can't play parties anymore, it felt good to do it. The mix reflects an all-night long set as I would play it right now, compressed into 3:33 hours. The evening starts with warm and smooth breakbeat tunes in the first half hour and are then followed by smooth deep house tracks. After that we go straight into the night with a wild ride between Progressive House and Melodic Techno. Besides some new stuff from myself I will also present upcoming releases from my label Radikon". 

BIO: Spirited emotion is the protagonist in Jonas Saalbach’s brand of electronic dance music. Deeply uplifting and body-moving, he has released eps and long players with Einmusika, Bedrock and his own imprint Radikon. Hailing from a small town in southern Germany, Jonas moved to Berlin at a young age to pursue the dream of bringing his musical vision to the world stage. A decade later, he has performed at hundreds of locations on five continents, the world-renowned Burning Man and Fusion festivals and a cliff in the Norwegian fjords for a sensational back to back Cercle performance with Einmusik broadcasted to millions of viewers. As a producer, Jonas is exceptionally prolific. His sophisticated, hardware-based style gives unusual and particular sounds a new life, morphing them into timeless dancefloor anthems filled with emotion and percussive energy. In 2018, Jonas co-founded electronic music imprint Radikon as a platform for like-minded artists. Based at his studio in the historic Funkhaus complex in Berlin, Radikon has become a collaborative epicenter with 20 critically acclaimed releases in its first two years alone. Jonas’ energetic live performance and singular brand of melodic house and techno has enthralled listeners and club-goers around the globe. As a producer, DJ, live act and label owner, he will remain a driving force in electronic music for years to come.

Words about the mix:
For me, music is really inspired by the eclectic tastes that the world and its people have to offer and share. Apart from the world of music, I also work in the film industry, focusing on direction and storytelling, and I think this can translate into blending sounds together as well. Telling a journey through ups and downs, pushes and pulls, different emotions through different sounds. This aural exhibition compliments a visualised story of a blend of my travels from leaving the US 5 years ago, to now settling in Australia (for the foreseeable future) with the people and experiences I have been able to learn from. When I was approached to make this mix, it allowed me some time to reflect and make something that was inspired by dreams of the unknown and the need for adventure and expansion of the mind. That being said, the journey of the mix should allow the listener to venture through the dance music sounds and influences of US (Chicago, Detroit, Colorado, & New York), Europe, South America, Asia, and Australia) and allows of for a sense of reflection and nostalgia. 

Bio: Originally a jazz/funk drummer from Colorado, USA indulged in the jam band scene, Shane Crosland is the artist known as SHAMUS and founder of SONIK-INO, currently based in Byron Bay, Australia. His style is ultimately guided by the idea of space, authenticity, and depth, playfully blending an array of selections in his sets. No stranger to tension and release, SHAMUS remains in a position to fully explore sounds both old and new, across the realms of house and techno with astral, euphoric, world, and soul influences. With that, he is able to create eccentric, emotive, and vibrant dance floors.

Hello Flow'ers. My initial idea with this mix was to prepare a studio mix and plan it out to bits and be a tightly curated journey and experience. Turns out I am a lousy planner, always lack time, and am much less in flow when I let my perfectionism take the lead. If this pandemic has shown me anything, it has been to embrace change and trust in the magic of being in flow. These themes have led me to the magical land of Mexico. I was blessed with a few rare opportunities to share my music and experience a flow state I had missed for many months during the pandemic.

This mix combines two live recordings of two hidden slices of paradise hidden in the Tulum jungle. Two spots where both mother nature and a solid group of beautiful, happy, loving humans of all corners of the world got the best out of me. This is me in flow. Enjoy @undersmusic

Dropping her debut album at the start of 2016, ‘Theory of Love’ garnered a glowing print review in DJ Mag, radio support from the likes of BBC Radio 6 Music’s Nemone, John Digweed and Jonty Skrufff, not to mention topping the Beatport charts with the release hitting no.1 in Breaks, no.14 Electronica, no.18 Deep House, no.23 in the Tech House - resulting in an overall Top 100 appearance at no.93. Now, with her live set evolving, her Multiversum events and record label Comport maturing, 2021 looks to be the most propitious year yet for this bright and promising individual. DANSOR's performances have graced Sziget Festival, Ozora Festival and Balaton Sound, not to mention an inventive appearance at Amsterdam Dance Event where she performed her debut album ‘Theory Of Love’ live with her band, her interactive live performance with a sensor jacket, visuals and violin player Ewa Pepper during TEDx Haarlem or her new live set controlled by sensor gloves streamed by Electronic Groove in partnership with Valhalla Music, Conflux Connect and Bespoke Musik.

I hope you enjoy my emotional rollercoaster - reflecting the ups & downs of the past year, we all had to deal with. You will hear many of my current favourites, musical influences, a couple of my latest works on labels like Ritter Butzke, Sprinkler and also one of my unreleased tracks called ‘Passion’. To step into the moment and to go with the flow was always one of my highest goals and also one of my biggest challenges. With music I find my flow and connect with my feelings very naturally and playfully. In this set I want to bridge the gap between more laidback and dreamy tunes and those that stimulate the dancers in us. Furthermore, this mix is composed of three different waves of tension that fade into each other like water that comes and goes at the shore of the ocean. I am very happy to be a part of this amazing podcast series and I want to give a huge thanks to the whole team for making that possible! After a magical weekend on cloud 9, we are finally back on Earth. The adventure started in mind-blowing Canada, where we met one of the kindest crews we've ever had the pleasure of getting to know. From there, it proceeded through Poland to the magnificent LAS Festival, and finally to the Fusion Festival, what we call home. As soon as we reached the "Extravaganza" stage, we became completely overwhelmed.
However, it started to rain and we quickly decided to just let go of the crowd and start improvising as usual. Thanks a million times to everyone for this unforgettable moment who joined us in dancing, laughing and tears.

here is the Set that I played last Saturday on the Acid Bogen Floor at Kater Blau. My urge to play downtempo grew a lot the past time. I was missing this deep vibe, that is not obviously pushing you, but welcomes you with open arms, so you can fall, fall, fall. So I tried to stay on one of my favorite Tempos "109BPM" unfolding the vibe not with faster tempo, but only deeper and deeper music. And boy it worked. Thanks so much to everyone on the floor for being so open and letting go so much to create this free, gutturally boisterous vibe on the floor together. It was really magical <3

😺 What book are you currently reading, and how is it?

Wilhelm Tell (Schiller) - No, it’s not for pleasure, but the new item on the compulsory reading list I have to teach at school. The plot is confusing, the political/ historical setting of the play hard to understand. Why someone would think that this is a suitable choice for a bunch of teenagers in the 21st century, will remain a mystery to me.


😽 What is your favorite procrastination activity?

When a pile of class tests is waiting for me to be corrected, it’s definitely digging music, creating funny intros for my sets and watching Ableton tutorials. 


😼 If you could live in any fictional world from a book or movie, where would you choose to live and why?

I would be curious to know what it is like to be Tobias, the protagonist of the novel „Als wir nach den Sternen griffen“ by Theresa Herold. The story is set in the embassy of Western Germany in Prague during the summer of 1989. Tobias is a single parent who fled there with his daughter from the former East German regime (GDR), fighting for his family and other refugees to be granted asylum by the West-German BRD. I’m still fascinated with the circumstances of that time because I feel that we can learn a lot about non-violent protest against a totalitarian political system.
