Specialising in Melodic House & Techno, Richards infuses his music with a raw tribal groove, blending sawing synth sounds, impactful bass stabs, and ethereal background vocals. In his latest release, ‘Metal,’ Richards showcases his peak-time throbber with a dark slant and melodics. This remix by Stan Kolev adds another layer of depth, offering a hypnotic and dramatic reworking with a spaciously warm, melancholic vibe that enhances the sonic journey.

Tash's Movement Recordings rounds out the month of January by welcoming Nosh & SJ back to the label for a new EP. Emerging in 2013, the Indian duo quickly became residents at some of Mumbai's trendiest nightclubs, while their distinct sonic aesthetic landed them key production credits via Dopamine Music, Eat My Hat and Juicebox Music. 2023 marked the duo's Movement Recordings debut with the well-received 'Energy High' EP, a two-track showcase with both selections still sitting atop the duo's Beatport Best Sellers almost a full calendar year later. Now, as 2024 begins to take shape, Nosh & SJ make a welcome return to Movement with their second artist showcase 'Unleashing The Power'. Nosh & SJ's keen dancefloor sensibility is always present in their productions and the title selection 'Unleashing The Power' demonstrates that perfectly. Dark and energetic from the outset, the duo assembles a powerful selection of razor sharp stabs, crunchy rhythms and robotized vocals, sitting atop a framework of spacious basslines and thunderous kick drums. In contemporary fashion, the vocal expands across the break, carrying with it waves of anticipation as electronics fire and drum rolls towards a club-effective finale. The second selection 'Dance of Existence' proves to be a worthy complement with its tough, driving energy. Punchy beats power the groove, while percolating rhythms and shapeshifting overlays add space and intrigue. Continuing to evolve as the main break commences; emotive melodies and calming atmospheres create a unique emotional response, before a timely vocal motif cues an electrically charged final act. The third and final selection 'Dreamscape' continues the crossover style for which the duo have become so beloved. A rolling low end sets the track in motion as clustered melodies, acid stabs and buoyant rhythms move through the framework as the main break approaches. Foggy and mysterious, the interlude sits at the core of the storyboard, with its timeless appeal and crisp effects eventually revealing modulating bass and percolating acid lines, before a striking vocal sample sparks a finale of 303s and uplifting melodies to round out the EP perfectly.

A tumultuous artifact, ANSPECT travels through the electronic seas with precision, mixing organic techno and foreign octaves. After a first single 'How Many' released in October 2023, French duo ANSPECT drops a massive 3-tracks EP on Family Piknik Music including a bonus remix by Family Piknik regular member Mood
Gorning, who emphasizes the Afro-House core of the original version.

On this EP, we also discover new influences, from acid, broken beat to melodic techno. ‘Minarat’ offers a darker vision of the dancefloors with insisting synths calling for peak time euphoria, while ‘User Entry’ breaks frontiers thanks to an hybrid balance between acid, breaks and techno. A very creative and interesting proposal with a fresh approach in the studio, somewhere in between The Chemical Brothers and the classic Afterlife power effect.

In a truly galvanizing frenzy, ANSPECT creates its own spacetime, blurring boundaries between melodic pulsations and dark echos. A strong synergy with multiple influences forms the original and surprising DNA of the group.

Another spectacular release by Kitchen Recordings including 3 gems of progressive sound with some ethereal and hypnotic hues.

The juicy bass lines of “Aurora Borealis” by M’ad accompanied by grittier percussions compose the unique groove, while the soothing synths and pads take you to outer worlds of the forgoten.

The pulsating groove of “Nexus” by the master from Yerevan breathes with a different dynamics, creating the lush ambiance one needs in the mid of a set. The spices added in a remix of “Aurora Borealis” by another chef duo from Yerevan, Supacooks lift up the release even more, and highlights the legendary stylistics and manifests in texture the Cooks are known for.

The release is out fully baked and ready on February 16th.
