Living between Sydney and LA, Australian artist AViVA is creating her new image and developing the world for her new single GRRRLS on 13th October 2017. This is the first single to introduce us to her conceptual approach to music.
Australian independent recording artist AViVA is marking her re-entry into the scene with new single GRRRLS arriving on Friday the 13th of October 2017. This release marks AViVA’s first release in 2 years and is a clean break away from the sound and image she had previously been creating. Within this musical shift some elements have remained the same- her distinctive vocals and the visceral and dynamic drums. This single produced by MataisC and Jean-Paul Fung (Silverchair, Last Dinosaurs) and mastered by Matt Colton (Muse, Coldplay). GRRRLS is a nod to Riot Grrrls everywhere.
Following the release of Crystaleyes in 2015, AViVA spent the next 24 months performing around Australia’s East Coast and playing at summer festivals until she retreated to write new music. This time, spent between LA and Australia, Aviva experimented with new sounds and styles drawing inspiration from all forms of art to create the new unique sound and imagery, seen with the release of GRRRLS.
This new single develops in a deeper way AViVA’s thematic interest in the dichotomy of control and although full of attitude, GRRRLS is actually a reflection on the journey to find your place in
 
the world. Her fearless approach to lyric writing and fusion of hip-hop, pop and rock elements makes AViVA’s new sound a catchy and unique sonic pleasure.
AViVA wanted to create music that would connect with her audience in the same way she has always found music based on its ability to connect and feel. “So long as people find a connection, I will keep being cryptic. Sometimes not having all the facts helps people to find more meaning.” Says AViVA, herself no stranger to the feelings of exclusion and disillusionment.
GRRRLS stands as an invitation to join in the deeper concept she is building. This song creates a bridge to the world inside AViVA’s mind, transporting us into the dystopian city of Metropolis, a place which provided the strength and experience she needed to stop trying to fit in and try something radical to be herself. GRRRLS is an anthem for girls, boys, men and women everywhere and serves as a reminder to stand proud of who you are, forget what others think and fight for the right to be you.

The engineering department is conducting a test on yet another quantum engine prototype. By accident, the control system spins it up in an uncontrolled runaway feedback loop. Before anyone has managed to killed the power, the engine stabilizes itself in a hypercharged state.

'Fallout' is the first single from 'Slate Horizons'(fluffling.bandcamp.com/album/slate-horizons) and pretty much sets the tone for the entire album. Inspired by current events, 'Fallout' turns our reality it into a bleak vision of a post-apocalyptic nightmare.

Rather than telling a literal story, the track's powerful, dark, industrial and ambient sound, combined with intricate textures and experimental cinematic sound design, creates abstract, yet almost tangible imagery.

In a wider sense, 'Fallout' serves as an allegory for loss, big change, finality and re-adaption. It's the story of loss, grieve and solitude, but also hope, survival, re-inventing oneself, strength and determination.

I got the Waves Electric 88 on Friday so this is based around the electric piano. A lot more pop this week, Relaxing and easy listening 

I started with the strings, Violins and violas, And the started writing the Electric piano melody over the first few bars of strings. I went on from there to write the whole Piano melody and then built up the strings over that.Last of all I wrote The drum and bass tracks.

Add echo and tapes saturation, Mix well and serve immediately.

It’s 5 to midnight, the end of the line and you are about to leave this world for good. You have scheduled a final onstage performance of everything you have seen, done, loved, lost and regretted before an audience of everyone you have ever known. What would they see? How would they react?

Darkstone is a synth-infused electronic requiem - find a quiet place, pour a drink, close your eyes and think about the celebration that is your life.

“Its a bit of a cliche, but the idea for Darkstone came to me in a dream - about a 1930’s ballroom where I was performing in front of a black tie boisterous crowd. This got me thinking about the concept of a life’s ‘curtain call’, a real bittersweet moment. Musically, it started very simply - a couple of notes using a mournful brass instrument and then evolved from there to embed electronic, classical and synthwave elements”

I'm an east London producer, song writer, sound designer and vocalist. 'Fluff' is my solo project. (I'm the other half of trip-hop duo www.soundcloud.com/silverstreaks). 

Fluff-music combines traditional songwriting, indie, electronic, goth, ethereal/synth pop and experimental/cinematic sound design into powerful, emotional sound scapes. Manipulated field recordings and audio textures add suggestive sounds to evoke raw and visceral emotions in the listener.
