The music reflects on the enduring spirit of ancient civilizations, a testament to resilience, but also pays homage to the people of Capulálpam de Méndez who have become my adopted family here in Mexico. Their warmth and kindness are a constant source of inspiration. The piano serves as a roadmap for this musical journey, while the guitar takes the lead on the melody.

I recommend that anyone learning to play the guitar listen to this piece over and over again, playing the Gm/B♭pentatonic scale in various ways, and trying to find a phrase that you like.

The volume adjustment during mixdown is optimized for the environment when using the earphones that come with the iPhone. If you feel that the volume of the guitar playing in this work is low, please use earphones and check the volume balance of this recording. It seems that earphones other than those that came with the iPhone do not have any problems. When using an Android device and when connecting an audio interface to a PC, I connected inexpensive earphones and confirmed that the guitar volume can be heard at a roughly appropriate balance.

There is another way. I have embedded a SoundCloud player on my blog to introduce my works, but I noticed that this work sounds harder (mid-high tones are clearer) than when played directly in the browser. I was on a mini holiday when I created this beat, looking out over the lake from my hotel room. This kind of experience is rare for me, as I'm usually stuck at home. I had just finished writing my other track, "Ijadiri," and while this one has some similar elements, it's not exactly the same. I would almost describe it as yacht rock, or perhaps 80s rock, or something with a retro flavor. 

I don’t know anyone named Anjolie, but I imagine her as an angel singing or a rare beauty, complementing a night that occurs only once in a blue moon. Everyone can dream once in a while, and I’ve had experiences like that too—memories that, once formed, can inspire art. I used to shy away from this kind of writing, opting instead for a different style that often felt disingenuous. However, when I embrace these moments and dive deeply into them, I find I can tap into my most unique and authentic way of expressing myself, reminiscent of old-school techniques.

It took me a while to finish because I went through some rough weeks after the trip to the lake, but I persisted, and here it is. I hope its retro flair is enjoyed by everyone who hears it. Now, I'm ready to move on to my next project.

This is a song about the impermanence of relationships. In my younger years I assumed the people I knew would always be there and I would mourn the loss of those who drifted out of my life for whatever reason. Now I see it’s the temporary nature of relationships and everything else in life that gives it meaning.
