Sunflower

Sticky sweet with just a hint of a bite. This deceptively poppy track is wrapped in liquid guitars, a bouncy bass line, and a sugar-rush chorus that hits just right. Living in the mountains of Oaxaca, Capulálpam de Méndez, has deeply inspired this piece. The track opens with the sounds of wind and birds, weaving you into the heart of nature's embrace. Intricate guitar melodies then take center stage, exploring themes of balance and fragility within the natural world. The music reflects on the enduring spirit of ancient civilizations, a testament to resilience, but also pays homage to the people of Capulálpam de Méndez who have become my adopted family here in Mexico. Their warmth and kindness are a constant source of inspiration. The piano serves as a roadmap for this musical journey, while the guitar takes the lead on the melody.

La pista se abre con los sonidos del viento y los pájaros, entrelazándote en el corazón del abrazo de la naturaleza. Las intrincadas melodías de guitarra toman entonces el centro del escenario, explorando temas de equilibrio y fragilidad dentro del mundo natural. La música reflexiona sobre el espíritu perdurable de las civilizaciones antiguas, un testimonio de la resistencia, pero también rinde homenaje a la gente de Capulálpam de Méndez que se ha convertido en mi familia adoptiva aquí en México. Blow My Mind  Nocturnalprie$t & KiiMA

I was on a mini holiday when I created this beat, looking out over the lake from my hotel room. This kind of experience is rare for me, as I'm usually stuck at home. I had just finished writing my other track, "Ijadiri," and while this one has some similar elements, it's not exactly the same. I would almost describe it as yacht rock, or perhaps 80s rock, or something with a retro flavor. 

I don’t know anyone named Anjolie, but I imagine her as an angel singing or a rare beauty, complementing a night that occurs only once in a blue moon. Everyone can dream once in a while, and I’ve had experiences like that too—memories that, once formed, can inspire art. I used to shy away from this kind of writing, opting instead for a different style that often felt disingenuous. However, when I embrace these moments and dive deeply into them, I find I can tap into my most unique and authentic way of expressing myself, reminiscent of old-school techniques.

It took me a while to finish because I went through some rough weeks after the trip to the lake, but I persisted, and here it is. I hope its retro flair is enjoyed by everyone who hears it. Now, I'm ready to move on to my next project.

This is a song about the impermanence of relationships. In my younger years I assumed the people I knew would always be there and I would mourn the loss of those who drifted out of my life for whatever reason. Now I see it’s the temporary nature of relationships and everything else in life that gives it meaning.

Fluff-music combines traditional songwriting, indie, electronic, goth, ethereal/synth pop and experimental/cinematic sound design into powerful, emotional sound scapes. Manipulated field recordings and audio textures add suggestive sounds to evoke raw and visceral emotions in the listener.
