"I am listening..."  - REBEX
REBEX (Becca Millard-Metcalf) is a genre-defying artist whose music is a unique blend of house, jazz, blues, neo soul, and art rock. Drawing from a unlimited tapestry of influences, she tastes with sound and discovers new ones that resonate with her.  She enjoys capturing everyday mundane sounds to make music - just her way to make normal life more rhythmic than she already finds it.
With a deep connection to the heart of beats, REBEX brings together diverse genres to create sounds that are both fresh and familiar, allowing her to reach listeners on an emotional level.  Feel more or dance more - either way she wants more.  She used to be known as B3XX, but discovered another amazing neosoul artist that had that name, so she did not want to take from her space.

REBEX describes herself as the "third sibling" if Billie Eilish and Finneas were her brother and sister, raised by Thom Yorke (of Radiohead) and Sade. Born and raised in the desert of Joshua Tree, California, she didn’t start pursuing music until later in life, when she was 37. After experiencing a life-altering series of events, including the death of her father, REBEX asked herself, "Why am I really here?" This question ignited a deep commitment to the arts of music and acting, allowing her to step into her true creative self.

Her music is a vehicle for connection, inspiration, and healing. “I write about life—how people are, and how to keep remembering who we really are. ” 
Her journey as an artist began unexpectedly after a snowboard trip with her husband to visit Hamooniii, who DJ'd their wedding.  After hearing a song she really liked, she turned to her husband Zack Metcalf and said, “Gosh babe, I would love to sing with DJs and make music.”
She had no idea Hamooniii was starting to make his own music, so when he said he was looking for a vocalist for a track he had to restart after losing all his projects on his computer that crashed unexpectedly, she knew it was a green light.  Just days later, “Only One” was born in his Vancouver apartment using Iphone voice memos.  This marked the beginning of her musical journey and she continues to collaborate with producers like Hamooniii and later worked with her now producer Jake Bonheim (SonicJoy studios), releasing tracks like "Little Girl", "Flowers" and "Decadent Desserts for My Dog."

Her songs quickly garnered attention and were picked up for remixes by Chisari, forming the foundation of her creative team. Now working alongside house DJs such as MuuRari and Mezz, REBEX’s musical vision remains focused on creating a sense of unity and joy for her audience. She aspires to collaborate with more house producers, making music that allows listeners to feel and think for themselves.

With recent releases including “Danse,” “Big Dreams,” and “You + I”, as well as an entirely new live jazz set to perform, REBEX is charting a path towards bigger creative expressions. Her goal is to continue crafting music that touches hearts and helps heal, anyone who has an ear to hear.

Guided by the mantra “I’m Listening,” REBEX’s journey is one of embracing the moment, tuning into the world around her, and making music that leaves a lasting impact.
