This is a tune about someone who falls in love, but because of the way things went in an earlier relationship,  can only pretend he's singing it to her.  if only love was easier to understand.  if the guy could just strum her tummy with his thumb, he wouldn't feel so dumb about love.

4. Moyen Thyme
(Written by Taylor Willis and Milo Hayden)

Another stellar example of how important having a writing buddy is. Moyen Thyme was orginally written in a hexagonal cabin in the woods of Deadwood, OR. The original song was a study in dub… but didn’t have any groove, or direction, and frankly lagged. In an effort to spice it up, I plugged Taylor through a series of insane dub effects while he played his guitar. Things kept on getting trippier… and while trying to figure out what to pair with the guitar, Jason Bailey came up. I knew Jason Bailey through his stellar stage management at What The Festival 2015, and Taylor knew Jason because he lived in Eugene before moving up to Portland. We gushed about his dulcimer playing and then we simultaneously decided that he *HAD* to play on Moyen Thyme. I got in touch with Jason, and he helped arrange a recording session at Sprout City Studios down in Eugene. Taylor remotely sent me his new arrangement of the track and it was a total banger. Jason was both the engineer for the session AND played the dulcimer. We had the help of two stellar interns Jasper and Raven… and the session finished ahead of time. With Jason’s playing the track suddenly had a life of it’s own, and is a testament to the having the right people in the right place at the right time. Moyen Thyme wouldn’t be possible without him. Thanks Jason!
