PREMIERE - Plexi Glass - Magma Punch (Gewaltem Remix) (Ulla Records)

The two friends, Bruce the bat person and Vector Malevolent, combine their talents to deliver an explosive EP released on the Epicure Records label on March 27th.

At the heart of this EP lies the original track "Mé en Té", a bold creation that defies the conventions of cosmic dark disco, inviting both dance and introspective journeys.

"Mé en Té" is much more than just a musical track; it's a sensory experience where every note, every beat, transports the listener into a fascinating parallel universe. The composition is filled with surprises, including the unexpected arrival of a trumpet solo that enriches the sonic texture and adds palpable warmth to the whole.

Alemao, with his cosmic and euphoric vision, chooses to remove the trumpet to create an even more immersive atmosphere.

Cosmosolar, on the other hand, opts for an ultra-club remix, skillfully blending hypnotic acid sounds for an unforgettable dance experience.

F.U.R.O. takes us on an epic journey, slower but equally captivating, evoking almost the epic battles of Final Fantasy game. 

Giorgio Isaev, meanwhile, offers a dark and rave remix, evoking the feverish atmosphere of Berlin warehouses in the early hours.

Finally, Nick Hanzo closes the show with his signature rhythmic and transporting beats, adding an extra dose of raw energy and irresistible groove to this already impressive collection.

While this may be the debut release for the alias Laion, it’s not actually the first or even second release on Club Mackan by this Amsterdam based producer. Lionel aka Laion is one of the brains behind thePhilosophica who we’ve seen on the label with their hit “Grandma Jam” (as part of our first VA) and their acid take on Marcus Christiansen’s track “The Adventurer”. 

This time Laion decided to show up to the party alone, showcasing his fantastic talent for melodies and spicy arrangements with three original tracks. Whether it’s acid or piano house masquerading as italo or a combination of the two, you’ll find it here. And while we play dress up. We also have three very talented remixers, each bringing their own costume to the party. Let’s say hi to Bubs, Pianopoli and Sex Kino. 

If you know Bubs, you know that this guy likes disco, italo, trance and eurodance. And what better way than to dress up Conquest Of Happiness in a rather fashionable, but subtle eurodance styling? That’s exactly what we get here, but still very much attached to the 80s.

As for King Day, the Belgian producer Pianopoli opted for a bit of attitude to his fresh new look while still remaining true to the original, still very much inspired by the 80s and 90s. However, not much for following rules, he brought his whole entourage of signature pads to the party despite the invitation saying +1. 

When you’re at a party, there is always that guy or couple who stands out from the rest. Whether good or bad, that’s up for you to decide. But guess which one showed up like that to our party? You guessed right. Sex Kino has absolutely no regard for dress codes and we love that! They enter with raw determination and a bit of flair. This hypnotic robotic acid trance take on Virtues Of Idleness will make you forget everyone else at the party.

Some EPs are beautifully named, aren’t they? “Melodic Incidents In An Irrational World”, coming soon on the rising and shining Swedish label Club Mackan, is maybe the most interesting music release title we have seen in ages! We could not expect anything different from the mastermind behind such a thought-provoking caption: Laion is part of thePhilosophica (SXDNS307), an Amsterdam-based trio whose philosophy-soaked way of life inspires the gang to come up with an intelligent approach to electronic music which can lead us to have reflective thoughts about the human condition.

The fact that this is his debut solo EP does not mean Laion is a greenhorn. His previous pieces as thePhilosophica were published on vital outlets such as Aeon, Mosaique, Mélopée, and Club Mackan itself and brought a deserved spotlight for their keen output.

On the remix duties for “Melodic Incidents In An Irrational World”, equally outstanding works made with love by Bubs, Pianopoli, and Sex Kino. Premiered here, the latter’s interpretations.

The Swedish duo needs no introduction amid the so-called Indie Dance scene. With a discography full of gems published on Parlophone, HEARec, Roam, SkyCrew, Record Union, and Soil, James Brook (former Pardon Moi) and Josefine Larsson could not debut on Club Mackan in a better way. Their “hypnotic robotic Acid Trance take” on “Virtues Of Idleness”, with its eerie and sanguine aura, is undoubtedly one of the release's highlights.

With 'Delusion' we welcome BOHO, Ryan Nasty feat. WATT! to the label with a brand new two tracker featuring a dazzling remix from Italian maestro Amarcord. BOHO, Ryan Nasty & WATT! have developed a universally loved unique style; consisting of dynamic, groovy, deep and hypnotic fusion of genres that perfectly fit in any kind of club or festival. Their releases have received high acclaim - with support across the board from the who is who is in the world of electronic music. 

To open the release, trio drops the delightful title track 'Delusion'. A track full of driving vibrancy, while the arrangement keeps you moving with the energy on offer. 'Delusion' conveys a club edge with deep stimulated elements, capped off by the trio's fantastic production skills and WATT!'s outstanding vocal work. We basically have the formula for a bit of a monumental outing. Based in the Netherlands, Doctr signs his first release with Mélopée. It is a heterogeneous EP of 4 original tracks that mix their influences sensitively and complexly. It is a haunting musical edifice where the groove and fabulous melodies tell the story of a third-kind encounter.

“First Contact” is a powerful Italo Banger. The track is efficient and strong and takes off in an epic way when the melody comes.

The piece “Please take me with you” can’t be explained, it can be listened to. Slow speed, captivating pad and lead, let’s go for the goosebumps.

With “Peace, no peace”, it’s time to fight it out on the dancefloor. The Italorave song is fast, uncompromising, unfolding a frantic rhythm.

The last original sound “Where do we go from here” seems to be about hope after conflict. A splendid italo tune perfectly cut to close the party.

After remixing Panthera, Panthera now takes care of giving one to Doctr. He signs here a fantastic and rolling story inspired by 80s atmospheres. As per usual, the audience is transported, eyes closed, smile on the lips: thrills guaranteed !

We welcome the talented Valerj again for the second remix to close the release.He gives “Where do we go from here” a darker and more progressive touch, where the tension keeps building over and over again. Awesome !
