The snows are melting, the long dark nights receding and on queue nu-disco star Tim Bernhardt, AKA Satin Jackets returns with a new single filled with the promise of brighter days and warmer nights. Once again displaying his pop nous new single ‘Secret Lover’, featuring up and coming Berlin-based singer Jon Paul, is a breezy, uptempo track that marries house beats and irresistible disco melodies with the kind of vocal that you’ll be singing along to for months to come.

Having met at the legendary Hansa Studios in Berlin, the pair kept in touch throughout lockdown and when the idea for ‘Secret Lover’ struck Jon Paul, he knew Tim was just the man to bring the track to life. The result is a track that can happily take its place alongside some of Satin Jackets’ biggest tracks as its sparkling synth melodies, big pianos and orchestral flourishes all provide the perfect backdrop for Jon Paul’s heartfelt delivery. 

“Secret Lover is about being emotionally unavailable,” explains Paul. “Going from one relationship to another, not being able to commit while thinking you’re protecting yourself. Telling yourself you’re better off alone while the thing you’re really afraid of is a broken heart. It’s about losing a lover that you couldn’t fully let into your life.” 

Having clocked up more than 50 million streams on Spotify alone for his 2019 album ‘Solar Nights’, Tim hasn’t let anything like a global pandemic slow him down and has further cemented his position as one of the biggest names in the disco-house scene with a series of hit singles and critically acclaimed instrumental excursions that, while we wait for the real ones to open, have livened up living room discos worldwide.

Proceeds of the record will be donated to Legacy of Hope foundation, an Indigenous led charitable association which educates and raises awareness about the history and on-going impacts of Canada's residential school system.

Their energizing sound is rolling basslines focused, with a love for shrill synths and lead them to many festivals like Fusion, Bucht der Träumer, Wilde Möhre, Burning Beach and Pavoia as well as renowned clubs such as Sisyphos, Ritter Butzke, KitKat, Pudel, Übel & Gefährlich and Odonien. In this project the two guys have joined forces to produce an Ep blending subtly, proper industrial sounds, classic rave drum sequences, and atmospheric trance grooves. It will be out on the 24 of January.

The first track, "Bunery," evokes dreamy and trance-like sounds that transport the listener to an enchanting atmosphere. One can easily imagine listening to this track at a rave under the Mexican sun. The hypnotic beats and ethereal melodies create an immersive musical experience, perfect for transcending the boundaries of reality.
The second original track is a bold blend of dark disco and house, creating a unique fusion of catchy rhythms and mysterious melodies making it a versatile track capable of energizing any dance floor.

Zaratustra takes the track "Bunery" and remixes it in an energetic, club-tailored fashion. This remix amplifies the trance elements of the original track, with pounding bass and powerful synths.

Neskeh's remix for "Solid Feed" offers a cosmic and transcendent journey. Trance sounds blend with mysterious and acid elements, creating a sonic experience reminiscent of a bold, immersive exploration.

PREMIERE : Högt I Tak - Syrlig Sensation (Paisley Dark Records)

With Multiply Your Absurdities, Helena Hauff delivers her long-awaited 12-inch debut on Tresor: a multi-colored inauguration, masterfully crafted by the inimitable Hamburg producer and DJ.

The title track Multiplying My Absurdities opens the record, with a slow burn of magnetic synths and numbing acid drops.
Through its simple yet thrilling dynamics, it occasionally falls into playful skepticism, creating something truly unique, uncompromised, and beautiful.

Punks in the Gym is named after an infamous climbing route in Australia. As its namesake, the track mercilessly rises to a techno summit.
It gets steeper and steeper with every bar, resembling a volcanic dance where 303 earthquakes shake the ground before eruptions. 
Once you're halfway in, there's no turning back; all you can do is keep moving forward. 

The closing track, Humanoid Fruit, transports to an even darker prehistoric landscape.
Synths bursts remind of fossilized Pterodactyls revived—a challenging but rewarding trip through acidic rain and the alleys of your mind. 

Originally released as the soundtrack for Teslaism by artist and filmmaker Bahar Noorizadeh, a 3rd person musical racing game featuring Elon Musk and his self-driving car/lover and life coach, as they drive towards a shareholder meeting in a post-gamified Berlin landscape. It premiered at the "Tresor 31: Techno, Berlin und die große Freiheit" exhibition in 2022 and deals with stimulating skepticism about the emergence of a new era after Post-fordism that she calls Teslaism: "an upgrade to the system of production and consumption predicated on advanced storytelling, financial worldbuilding, and imagineering 'the look of the future.'" What has been once inspired by Helena Hauff's dystopian sound has now been made into an official music video for the track.

Much like the video, Multiply Your Absurdities represents a journey into futuristic uncertainty.

“Bassplayer” is Silent Cure´s latest production, coming out off the back of “Natural Punk”, a 3-originals EP released via NEIN Records earlier this year. 

Silent Cure´s track is faithful to the unconventional path followed by the Danish producer when it comes to blending IDM, EBM and ambient : “Bassplayer” is an hypnotic voyage into the underground world, where despair flirts with hope, where light flashes throughout darkness. The dream feels real as it would just before dawn.  

The vintaged DJ & producer who -  since his early days as a DJ in 1995 – has followed closely the evolution of electronic music, delivers yet another idiosyncratic tune for the aficionados of indie electro and wave music.     
 
The single EP “Bassplayer” is completed by a dystopian mix by Berlin-based Thisbe´s label owner Pyrame. 
  
“Bassplayer“ is due to drop on Friday the 10th of October 2024 on all streaming platforms via Thisbe Recordings.

FEINSTOFF PREMIERE: Silent Cure - Bassplayer (Pyrame's Dystopian Mix)

Belgian Duo Marching Machines joins Roam Recordings with a delightful EP of thoughtful electronic music that, while it can be filed under indie dance/dark disco, has a sound of its own. 

The title track Alfheim is an anthem born of machines that does the duo’s namesake proud. Heimdal takes the mood into a darker realm with its masterful synth worth over perfectly programmed drum machines. Midgaard keeps it dark with its driving arpeggios underpinning lush pads.

The EP is backed by remixes from Younger Than Me and Mufti. Younger Than Me is up first with an uptempo rave version that brings psychedelic acid to the party. Roam alumni Mufti brings the tempo back down into a groove with a warbly bass, leading to a refreshing melody that rounds out the EP.

FEINSTOFF PREMIERE: Marching Machines - Alfheim (Mufti Remix) [ROAM]

This sounds like something Andrew Weatherall would have played. 

The bond between Sprechen & the Idaho based duo Causeway (Allison Rae & Marshall Watson) has been steadily building over recent time with various message & props to each other as well Allie providing outstanding vocals on The Thief Of Time release last year.

With previous releases on Italians Do It Better (one of our fave labels!) they are now front & centre on Sprechen with their latest single 'Dancing With Shadows', a pulsating piece of hefty synth style action which precedes their forthcoming long player.

The single is a sonic exploration of the duo's expansive musical palate which cites influences from contemporaries such as The Cure & New Order (and even John Hughes movies!) but with a presence that is 100% unique to Causeway. Stripped back instrumentation and stacked synths create a dreamlike soundscape where Allison's vocal becomes the guiding light and provider of additional emotion on this neon soaked journey.

Dancing With Shadows comes across like a main track from the sequel to Drive that we never got (though we live in hope!), cinematic, stunning and a real plentiful taster of what is to come on their album next year.

Remixes take the track into other dysfunctional disco realms with Marshall himself providing a pumped up club mix that cranks everything from the OG up to 11 on the 'chunk-o-meter'. Whilst Sprechen's very own Chris Massey goes in for the acid kill with his 303 tweaking A Love From Outer Space style mid set stomper. Speaking of A Love From Outer Space, Sean Johnston himself gives a deep, moody & more psychedelic affair to his rework that takes things subterranean. Whilst Kiaki takes things deeper into stripped back chug territory which is equal parts hypnotic & hooky with a stomping backdrop...big!

Le groupe est formé en 1981 par Beate Bartel (Mania D, Einstürzende Neubauten) et Chrislo Haas (Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft) ainsi que la chanteuse Krishna Goineau. Dans le cadre de la scène Neue Deutsche Welle (Nouvelle Vague allemande) ils ont été les pionniers de l'electronic body music.

Après avoir enregistré quatre cassettes de dix minutes, ils ont sorti leur seul album en 1981. L'album Liaisons Dangereuses a été mixé au studio Conny Plank à Cologne. L'album contient le single Los Niños del Parque (en français: Les enfants du parc), qui est devenu un succès underground et a été cité comme influence cruciale par des DJ de la techno de Détroit, et de la Chicago house.

Le groupe fait plusieurs apparitions en direct tout au long des années 1981 et 1982, et ils sont parfois rejoints par Anita Lane (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds) et Hideto Sasaki. L'album est réédité en 2003. Chrislo Haas est mort à Berlin en octobre 2004.
