Neale’s journey with music started when he got his first set of decks at 14 and started playing speed garage & bassline house music which was massive in the Birmingham underground scene at the time. 
After many years away from the decks, At the start of lockdown Neale decided to put his all into learning music production and getting back into DJ'ing again. Already his mixes have hit global charts on mixcloud and he has his 2 releases signed for release in early 2021
Neale loves all music and learns so much from all genres. In this mix he has showcased some of the sounds he loves as well as playing a exclusive of his latest track “Everyday”

This set is extra special as it was the night of a full moon, my first time playing in Berlin and at Kater. This one was special – captaining the steamship at the Dampfer stage from 00:00 - 03:00, a goal I set back in 2023 when I first waddled through those infamous duck gates.

Got to sneak in four of my own originals, plus some unreleased heat from a few of my favourite local and international troublemakers. What a treat.

Big love to everyone who danced, raged, and shouted things at me I couldn’t hear over the foghorn.

Hope to return to the captain’s deck again soon.

Dieses Jahr hatte ich mir gewünscht, ein Set zum Sonnenaufgang zu spielen (05:30 😅) – weil das auch für mich auf Festivals die magischste Zeit ist.
Man hat sich durch die Nacht frei getanzt, alle Erwartungen hinter sich gelassen – und plötzlich ist man leichter und ungezwungener.
Genau so durfte meine Musik klingen: verspielt, verträumt, ein bisschen hypnotisch. Mit besonderen Remixen und liegengebliebenen Tracks, die in der Nacht keinen Platz gefunden hätten.
Danke an alle, die diesen Moment mit mir geteilt haben. Das Tumult Festival ist etwas ganz besonderes – so liebevoll, so echt. Es hat unglaublich viel Spaß gemacht.💫💥🫠🧡

Huhuu! Wahnsinn, was da wieder los war in der Renate. 12 Jahre Rebellion – das muss natürlich gebührend gefeiert werden! Dass diese Crew für ausufernde Partys bekannt ist, ist ja kein Geheimnis. Tausend Dank an Bisu, der uns eingeladen hat, mit von der Partie zu sein. Wir konnten unsere Woodlands-Buddys ein bisschen vertreten, die zeitgleich ihren Sommerabschluss auf ihrer Fläche in Hildesheim gefeiert haben. Das war grandios – nach so langer Zeit mal wieder hinter den Decks zu stehen! Die Aufnahme ist hin und wieder mit ein paar Atmo-Sounds direkt aus dem Club gespickt. Viel Spaß beim Hören! (:

If you look up the word combination retro-futuristic-cosmic-space-synth-techno-disco, in the Encyclopedia Galactica (not available on earthbound amazon), you will find an audiovisual holographic representation of the legendary Italo Brutalo.
 Not convinced yet? Well, it all began a long time ago in a far away mind space, when the visionary musicians George Clinton, Bootsy Collins, Yellow Magic Orchestra and Giorgio Moroder met in a higher geometrical dimension during a lucid dreaming session. There, they improvisationally build a shrine that married a Farfisa organ, a Linndrum and an ARP Odyssey. The analog offspring of this cosmic union laid dormant in a rainbownized mothership cocoon, until it crackingly metamorphized, spreading its night club butterfly wings, enveloping the dance floors with pure loving 80’s synth and beat coolness in 2012 a la Italo Brutalo.
 A true believer in the capability of analog synthesizers, Italo Brutalo gets his first EP Paradiso Analogico released on Mozzarella Recordings in 2013. This release took the picture of Italo disco, being produced in a smokey 80’s studio in southern Italy, with is a knackered mixer desk, some fat mono synths covered in dust, a crappy digital effect box and a pre-programmed drum machine that somebody detached from a Farfisa organ that just plays an endless disco beat blasting angry Italo disco from the basement, to a cleaner perfectionist soundscape of the 21st century.
       Keeping his originality, Italo Brutalo releases the EP Systeria on the label Days of being wild in 2014 and the EP Spydor on Nein Records in 2015. By then, he has already done lots of well-hyped remixes for artists such as Kris Menace, Justin Faust, Moonbootica, Auxiliary tha Masterfader, James Rod, etc.
       With a turntable and synthesizer setup like few, Italo Brutalo performs world wide and has paid tribute to his Italo cause on dance floors and festivals, like Zoo Project in Ibiza, Wilde Renate in Berlin, Le Sucre in Lyon and Replicant Knights in Barcelona to name a few.
       Not limiting his skills and passion for his style to remixes, edits, tracks and DJ gigs, Italo Brutalo has also delivered numerous podcast sets to broadcasters such as Berlin Boombox, Death by Repetition, Nu Disco Your Disco, The Robot Scientists and others.
       As always, Italo Brutalo will keep it real, high quality and will keep spreading his original old school synthesizer disco music vibe in the future by taking listeners, night clubs and festival motherships on a truly original voyage.

The Police "Walking On The Moon" - Broken Open

"This is an age old story, of a man once a boy..."

On February 14th, David Block aka The Human Experience opened his heart to the world as he released his 6th full length album (collaborations and EPs excluded). The album, titled "Broken Open," examines the depths of the most difficult of human emotions, the "age old story," love. "Broken Open," like love, is complex and wrought with all that comes with falling in love, being in love, letting go of love, and (most importantly) loving oneself. The 13-song album immerses the listener in sadness, joy, compassion, bliss, peace, and all of the other beautiful feelings that come with experiencing what it is to love and to be loved.

The title track, "Broken Open," showcases Block's talent for blending electronic compositions with organic sounds featuring heartbreaking vocals and a piano that makes you feel like you're in a smoky jazz club which transition nicely into the scat-like snaps in "Traveling Blues," and a trombone (played by Mal Webb) that makes you feel at turns excited and lonely.

When asked about the album, Block said, "The songs explore the full spectrum of love; Birthing from innocence to heartbreak to love in the other to breaking free to finding love in oneself" - from highs that make you feel as though you're "Walking on the Moon," to heart wrenching lows as love "Slips Away."

True to form, Block showcases his talents while embracing the strengths in others. The album has many incredible collaborations, with tracks featuring The Grouch, Quixotic, Leah Song (Rising Appalachia) and more.

Block has built a diverse fan base from countries around the world and played events ranging from Burning Man, Boom, Coachella, Electric Forest, Wakarusa, Lightning in a Bottle, Sonic Bloom, Symbiosis, and Envision to name a few. David has shared the stage with artists such as Thievery Corporation, Bonobo, Tipper, Emancipator, and many more.

While Block's sultry beats and cohesive sound have always been seductive, "Broken Open" brings a brazen vulnerability that comes with maturity. More than just sharing emotion with the listener, Block provides something more - something new. "Broken Open" goes out on a stylistic limb which is both innovative and refreshing.

"It is different, and I'm embracing that it's great to be different sometimes," says Block.
 
The album serves as the debut album for the "Slow Down" label.

We'd like to spread our love and gratefulness to every one who was still with us at midday, while the sun was in its zenith. We literally got burnt under its rays. It must have been the hottest day of that week. But could it stop us? No way. That 3,5 hours were like one moment.

GU’s A&R team have spent hours listening to the latest promos and releases to come up with a stunning selection of tracks that have been spliced, edited, re-edited and polished into two slick continuous DJ mixes with 34 tracks.

Herzlich willkommen zu einer neuen Episode der Afterhour-Sounds-Reihe, heute mit der Nr. 171, gespielt mit Freude von dem Taumler Professor Chris Hanke - Bassforschung.

An einem Sonntagmorgen oder war es vielleicht auch Montagnachmittag trafen sich ein paar illustre Runde Menschen in einem bekannten Berliner Club mitten im Geschehen auf der Tanzfläche. Verstrickt in angeregte Gespräche verging eine gewisse Zeit bis irgendwann klar wurde, hier stimmt etwas gewaltig nicht. Während Alle noch irritiert um sich blickten, sich fragend was genau an der Situation nicht stimmen konnte ward Chris auf einmal nicht mehr gesehen. Ein paar Takte später wurde alles klar, der Bass auf dem Floor hatte gefehlt. Manchmal ist es eben nur ein kleines gedrückte Knöpfchen, gesucht und gefunden vom Professor und schon war der Nachmittag gerettet und es konnte wieder gestampft und getanzt werden.

Und wenn Chris nicht gerade am Forschen und Knöpfchen drücken ist zieht er gerne mit seiner Freudentaumel Crew durch die Lande, macht mal hier mal da Halt, regelmäßig auch in unsrer Lieblingsbucht. Immer mit bester Musik im Gepäck.

Auch für unsere Nummer 171 hat Chris tief in seine Professoren-Tasche gegriffen und einfach mal so all seine Lieblingstracks ob alt oder neu zu einer wunderbaren Stunde zusammengemischt. Danke Professor Hanke für diese Stunde wunderbar erforschte Musik mit Bass ❤ 
Euch nun wie immer viel Freude beim Hören und Erforschen … machts mal guddi …
