Landing with an almighty bass bin rumbling on Sprechen is another northern musical disciple from around our way. Kiaki has been a regular visitor to many a Sprechen and Sticky Heat social and defo knows his onions when it comes to rocking the discotheques. With previous releases on Me Me Me and the likes of Erol Alkan giving hi props its with a mega vibe that we welcome him to the label!

Northern Solar is a straight up, lost in the sweat & smoke kind of club track. Hypnotic and hooky with its relentless pulsating low end thud & rumbles accompanied by synth stabs and squelches a like. One for the mutant acid militia…

The 2nd helping comes in the form of ‘And Then Some’. Slower paced and stripped back allowing for a more infectious groove to take over. But still packing bags of electronic drama. Perfect ‘transition track’ for when you need to flip things up a notch (or 2). Kind of peaky but not too much, what we like to call at Sprechen as a ‘subtle banger’.

PREMIERE – Shubostar – Galaxy Walker (Italo Brutalo Remix) (Uju Records)

Originally released by Valerie Dore back in 1984, Get Closer is one of those Italo-disco cuts that still lingers in the collective memory - sleek, emotional, and unmistakably of its time. Fast-forward 41 years, and Comme Un Coeur offers a thoughtful rework that doesn’t just nod to the original, but gently reshapes it with a modern twist.

On remix duties, French producer Yan Wagner - this time stepping out as The Populists -pushes things into acid territory. His version gives the track a tougher edge, suited for darker dance floors, but keeps the spirit of the original flickering underneath.

It’s a release that feels more like a conversation between eras than a throwback - Get Closer, still pulsing after all these years.
