Not An Animal are known for their heated takes on the art of disco-sampling house music, and Ess O Ess is one of the key factors in defining that sound. This comes through in spades on Take You To A Secret Place, where the title track comes marching out atop a deadly bassline that will cut through any mix to get the people freaking out. The dub mix is equally deadly, flying a generous dose of cosmic sparkle into the mix without losing the punch in the original production. Kuniyuki Hard takes a daring approach that slows the track down to a creep and emphasises space and tension. The Angophora version is even more drastic, seemingly stripping all the recognisable elements of the track out and leaving behind a plaintive thread of ambient instrumentation.

At the beginning of summer there is again an update from Turn It Down Music. The track STRG + F5 comes from label owner BACK FOR GOOD (Matthias Speck). Remix support for this hard refresh comes from none other than Franz Scala (Francesco Scala), Slow Motion Records Label Head and half from Studio Luce. Both the original track and the Franz Scala remix are not stingy with gated reverb, so you feel set back directly to Marty MC Fly back in 1985. While the original track lives above all from its reduced overall appearance, a hypnotic pad and the spaced delay patterns, Franz Scala´s remix is more melodic and impresses with its rousing argeggio bass line.

Our friend @Aslamin just launched his label @estetika_minsk ! We’re happy to host one track from his first compilation ‘Dance For Belarus’ ! It features tracks from representatives from across the Belarussian electronic scene: Fitzzgerald, Schmoltz, Leap and Aslamin himself. Johannes Albert, Donald Dust, Rambal Cochet are on board as well as @danielmonaco & @futuristant with their track ‘Surfing’.

The release will be in aid of raising funds for Belarusians who were subjected to repression after the August 9th rigged elections in Belarus.
