Premiere RMR002R - Aheadacheaday - A Nice Flooded House (thePhilosophica  Remix)

Operating from sundered soils, Eftersom is a triangle formed between Ravage Sentimental, close collaborator Jérôme Darmois, and Chris Vella aka Moderne Romance. The term “Eftersom” is used as a nod to their cross-border bond, a bond galvanized by a simple love of music, unwavering creative drive, and a fair collection of imperfect studio gear.

With their LP “Lie” on Paradise Children Records lined up for the second half of 2023, here the trio present “Tourne Tourne”, a precursor to the project which comes coloured with remixes made with love by Niv Ast, Mufti, Radial Gaze, and Ravage Sentimental herself. Radial Gaze offers up two unique takes: a ‘Pop’ and an ‘Indie’ version, by the way. The prolific Russian duo, formed by skilled producers Andrey and Stas, spared no efforts to deliver such insightful interpretations. 

Premiered here, their 'Pop' remix lays pellucid twinkles over tight, sharp rhythms, bringing the energetic original to a journey through the low-BPM realm wrapped with a Synthpop crust and a sober but upbeat gait.

Particular Tripper is the newest EP from Jack Matthew Tyson. This master of synthesis delivered us 5 sublime dance tracks. Completely atomic will turn your dancefloor with Nucleus Accumbens. Jack's great synth work attacks nicely with a good lay out bass. A more aggressive bassline starts when you play Space Tripper. An oriental theme will lift you into space! And after your long trip, you return to Cryogenics. A brief explanation of how animals will survive in the future, driven on a dreamy melody and a very clubby bassline. Or was it No Particular Destination? A bit more uptempo, but again well, layered synthesizers work and well chosen vocal samples. And if you end up with Superstition, you know this is the last track of the EP. Harder beats, and 'bleep' sounds of the future. Jack Matthew Tyson makes music of another level, very high quality and ahead of its time. Like the Fenix. FenixFire is always ahead!

Master James Rod (SXDNS099) is undoubtedly one of the best players amid the Nu Disco/Indie Dance scene. When it comes to Disco-infused cuts, his output is second to none and has led him to be published on many a respected imprint: Masterworks, Rare Wiri, Gouranga, Nang, Logical, Paper Disco, Cosmic Sumo, Imagenes, U’re Guay, NEIN, Discoweey, Midnight Riot, Sprechen, Wonder Stories, Emerald & Doreen, and his very own Golden Soul. Phew! Many Top 10 & top-notch stuff in his prolific and eclectic catalogue, you should check it out on your favourite on-line retailer in case you are not familiar with his work. Thank us later!

For his forthcoming endeavour, “Synthetic Glory”, coming soon on the competent Paisley Dark, J.R. cooked two nervous originals and gathered a proper line-up of superstars for the remix duties: Mindbender (BANDCAMP003), Rude Audio, Hunterbräu, Högt I Tak (SXDNS179), and Man2.0 (SXDNS081/FREEDL002) have definitely raised the bar of the release with their insightful interpretations.

Despite the high quality of the remixes, we opted to go with the title track for our review. Intense and robust, “Synthetic Glory” marks with grandeur this new phase of James’ work in which he explores his EBM, Industrial, and Cold Wave influences to deliver obscurity-meets-groove cuts. If not suitable for pool parties, no problem: foggy and darkened dance floors it is!

Since his first appearance on Freerange Records in 2017, Astroloop (SXDNS253) has been carving his name in stone in the high-quality underground music scene. Inspired by Cosmic-Disco-infused House Music, it was not until his debut on New Day Everyday in 2021 that his focus has been solely on bringing to life well-constructed and creative Indie Dance cuts. His solid works published on Nothing Is Real, Latido, Ombra, and NEIN have established the rising Italian producer as one of the most prominent names of the genre.

He is now back on the British powerhouse NEIN with a driving & sharp EP featuring two peak-time beasts (“Hold Me” and “San Pedro) and a spot-on remix made with love by awesomely bearded Milano-based producer Tayga.

The track we were solicited to review/premiere depicts Astro flirting once again with his Cosmic Disco influences successfully paired with a proper amount of Acid and laser FXs. The ominous vocal hook and the powerful Blade-like synth stab cannot go unmentioned.

Summertime is here and there's no better way to celebrate it!
"Blanco Sombra" is Syd dePalma's debut on Rotten City. An EP where love, hate, and fear converge at a single point. Featuring two original tracks, "Puerto Leone" and "Cuerpo, Sombra y Espalda," the Spanish producer, musician, and vocalist has delved into the darkness to extract every color, finding a wonderful balance between various elements such as light and darkness, with classic and new methods of composition and production. The result is a fluctuating blend of new wave, psychedelia, and post-pop, creating a sonic space comparable to the feeling of nightfall, where one cannot distinguish between their strengths and weaknesses, yet still feels comfortable in the ebb and flow of sensations between good and evil.

On the other hand, Delone, fascinated by the vibes of "The Knife" or "Fever Ray" in "Puerto Leone", has transformed the vocals from the original track into an abstract wall of sound that drives the remix as a backdrop. It is 100% focused on the club scene, yet avoids the typical 4x4 beat to transcend genres on this amazing journey of breaks and epic chords.
