Jakob Mäder finally lands on Feinstoff. Way too many melodies for one version only. So here we go with four songs out of one. We have the original mix and a drum tool starting with part I. Piano chords, a rolling bassline and a bunch of melodies set the vibe, while the second track is a little present to all the DJs that like tools. Are you ready for part II?

We *are* living in the future. In fact, this text could've been written by an AI text generator, and you would probably not notic it, if it wasn't for the odd typo.

This track was conceived out of need to fantasize a utopian vision of the future, as the current version of the here and now can be rather depressing and discouraging.

Davin Varda approached Middle Sky Boom, a fellow traveler, to collaborate on this track. He gladly accepted, and nailed the vocals in one sweet session.

This release includes two more versions of the song. The extended dubby version by Troles Yuri is a more minimalistic alternative to the song, subtracting elements and stretching stretching the pounding beat into a full club experience.

The Middle Sky Boom version is a remix of a remix, sending the track spinning around the earth in an abandoned spaceship full of chirping computers going in and out of sync.

PREMIERE : Davin Varda - Living In The Future (Middle Sky Boom Remix)

Since 2014, Silas Schletterer has been part of the Bordello A Parigi family. Under his Machinegewehr guise, the Rotterdam artist released three show-stopping synth centred records. 2023 sees him put out his fourth, Life. Burbling arpeggios, a signature of his sound, are present for “Sans.” Clever inviting melodies, another feature of Schletterer’s style, mix beautifully with clean percussion and samples for a definite dancefloor favourite. The title work follows. Measured and meditative, “Life” employs a familiar sound palette with very different outcomes. The pulsations, the throb, of Machinegewehr is there, but there is a considered melancholy that brins a bittersweet balance to the piece. Steady kicks and vocal snippets introduce “Pills.” Shifting melodies, piano stabs, driving rhythms and spoken word come together to create a heady brew of sheer pleasure. Vocals are central in the closer. “Neurons” narrates a fantastical story of subdued sci-fi sorrows and wistful yearning, all to a silken synth-pop soundtrack. A welcome return from a multifaceted musician.

Future Funk is a journey through time. Inspired mostly by gems from the 80ies, 90ies and different parts of the world. I always keep exploring and finding inspiration in different places.
Most of the tracks on the album stuck with me for years, and it felt that they were now ripe enough to release on the first Moiety album after many different releases spread over the years.
