Paryìa label head Marie Montexier comes up with the third instalment on her imprint. 

After kicking off the label with records by a.b.u.3.0.3. and Small Crab, Marie is having the Vancouver based acidic specialist Overland, who delivers three cutting-edge dance floor tracks that showcase her rich and versatile fusion of classic acid techno patterns and distinctive bass music rhythms.

Rounding off the record, Marie Montexier adds a remix from the Chicago based up-and-comers Purelink. In contrast to Overland’s dark, fast, and bassy sound, Purelink re-arranged a trippy downtempo version of ‘Paloma’, resolving in the delicate, yet deliberate, chillout ecstasy, they are best known for.

The second single from the talented indie house producer, Bambi Rambo, is here, "Chaos Magick". Her performances are characterised by an unwavering drive and infectious groove, creating an atmosphere that is both sensual and evocative. Known for seamlessly blending multiple genres, her sets are a captivating journey through twists and turns.

This distinctive style has rightfully earned Bambi the title of "psychedelic techno princess". Her debut track, “Nylon Red”, garnered attention on BBC Radio 1 and gained widespread support on dancefloors globally. 

Bambi says, “It's a track I would see in my idealised vision of a rave in a field or at a beach party in Goa. Sonically, it borrows a few elements from the early trance vibe like the pads and arps... This era of rave movement rising around the world has always been in a corner of my mind as a hallmark for freedom and liberation; a carefree light-hearted dance but still with a powerful message of freedom and equality. That's what this track is looking to convey. It is a light and uplifting dancefloor piece with a more profound message as well.”

Swiss duo Psycho Weazel are back on Iptamenos Discos, this time with their very own EP ‘Mains d’argile’ which has a range of sounds from new wave, indie dance, italo disco and house and features Curses, Local Suicide, as well as remixes from Marvin & Guy and Rafael Cerato.
'Matra Murena’ is a 4x4 dance floor scorcher inspired by the car of the same name. Made with motor sounds, the nighttime track is filled with metallic textures. 80s reminiscent powerful synths and snappy drums propel the track forward in a continual state of motion. A perfect marriage of Psycho Weazel’s ethereal elegance with Local Suicide’s alluring darkness. The end of the track breaks into a solo of motor sounds that is ear-pricking and truly unique.

Potential Energy marks an impressive label debut from London-based producer, and former Brighton music student, Delano. Although relatively new on the block, his productions uphold a sense of maturity and complexity, evidenced by recent support on BBC Radio 1, 6Music, and Boiler Room.

Comprised of 4 original tracks the EP stays true to its namesake; conjuring future rave fantasies that play on the build and release of tension, encapsulated by elements of trance euphoria, progressive techno and explosive bass & breaks.

Re-imaginings of ‘Close 2 U’ - from fellow label mate Debba and Keep Hush’s scg - bring things to a slower, stripped back focus, rounding off the release on two distinct chug and acid tides.

“I’m always on the hunt for old records” Delano explains, “but for this project I wanted to do the opposite, try to create sounds that spark ideas of what the clubs of the future could sound like”.

Dancefloor moments and community have also played a major role in shaping the EP: “I think the majority of my inspiration comes from the people around me. I’m lucky to be surrounded by a lot of very talented creators who share the same goals and ideals”.

Please enjoy my set from the incredible Rainbow Serpent Festival 2019 Market Stage, this year I had the opportunity to take the sound back to my roots in hip hop, soul & funk. I’ve been producing, reworking, editing and playing alot of these tracks over the years, so I thought it was finally time to put them all together in one musical piece to enjoy.
