Podcast #169 is bringing exactly what we need for our post-party realignment. The DJ/producer/live act duo, Akob have united some of their own personal creations (check out Circular Limited, The Gods Planet, Lowless, Planet Rhythm et al) with a beautiful selection of both unreleased material and existing well-loved tracks from fellow producers in this hour-long mix for On the 5th Day. And we are loving the outcome! This is definitely an artistic synergy that we're excited to follow.

@akobmusic are Paris & Berlin based DJs, producers & live act with releases on Lowless, The Gods Planet and more. We are very happy to present their special liveset recorded at La Marbrerie, near Paris, at a @lowless-music party alongside Neel, Wata Igarashi & Seb Alcachofa.

The idea behind their live setup is to create the ability to reuse and rearrange elements produced in the studio while leaving enough space for improvisation and tweaking the sound live in the moment.

The laptop-free setup is a combination of analog and digital machines: samplers/sequencers/looper (2x Octatrack), drum machines (Rytm), synthesizer (Syncussion, MB33, 0-Coast), effects (Octatrack, BigSky, T-resonator), midi controller (2x Nanokontrol) as well as mixer (Xone 96).

"Acts of Nature" is a journey into the soul of every artist, a space where they can share their unique vision and personal form of expression.

Through this series, I’ll present my own mixes, as well as mixes and live sets from artists who inspire me.

Each mix is an invitation to immerse yourself in a world of sound, where rhythms, textures, and melodies come together.

Complementing these musical journeys are carefully selected photographs, taken by my fellow cousin. These images serve as windows into the world we’re creating together, reflecting the emotions, atmospheres, and shared experiences.

To encourage true musical exploration, I reveal the artists and labels featured in each mix but not the individual tracks. This keeps the focus on exploring the creative minds behind the music, inspiring listeners to delve deeper into the work of these artists and labels.

Where shadows dance and beats echo, emerges an enigmatic force, a wanderer of sonic realms, seeking to uncover the hidden depths of forgotten beats and shadowy soundscapes.

Driven by the pulse of dark, deep and mysterious rhythms, each set is crafted as ritual, a conjuring of primal code. 

As the fog lifts and the beats intensify, stands a guardian, a mystic navigator charting a course through the ever-evolving soundscapes.
