Louise Chen has been cutting her teeth as a DJ and promoter since the start of the 10s and has steadily been building her reputation as a keen record digger and club DJ with impeccable timing.

The Taiwanese-French artist uses her radio shows on NTS, The Lot and Rinse France to showcase the breadth of her taste, deploying a 'soul tearjerkers' special here and a 100 per cent gospel set there, as well as inviting guests like Mafalda and The Patchouli Brothers.

As she showed us last year, she brings only the finest-quality heat to the club with sets that invigorate dancefloors and radiate pure energy. The same goes for her tracks, as her burgeoning production career testifies.

Given that she's one of the most ingenious young DJs in the game, we called her up to contribute to Downtime and she's fulfilled the brief perfectly by...

When Byron The Aquarius talks about live frequencies, his enthusiasm is infectious. A keys player by trade, Byron’s love for melody and harmony has consistently drawn the attention of electronic music’s leading labels and producers.

In 2015, Byron released a ten track solo album on BBE entitled “Planets of Love.” When he wasn’t working on his own music, he was playing keys in the studio with Kai Alce. These creations got into the hands of Theo Parrish, who loved the sound of his sublime jazz-infected house and picked two tracks to release on his legendary Sound Signature label in 2016. The resulting “Highlife EP” has been hailed as “stunning”, “intoxicating” and “essential.”

Fast forward to 2022 and he's launching his own label, as explained...

“I made this mix to celebrate the launch of my new label Talknoi$e. I’m kicking off the first release with ‘Shroomz, Guns and Roses’, inspired by the time I spent in lockdown reconnecting with myself through nature.  It’s out now. Check it out in the mix..”

I have made no secret since LV online launched a couple of years ago that Fouk have been one of my favourite acts out there. Both members of Fouk, @junktionmusic and @danielleseman, are extremely talented producers so make sure that you check out their work both as Fouk and their under their own names,

Fouk make music which is undeniably cool but also with plenty of power for the dancefloor and grace for repeated listens. They have had stand out EP's on some of the finest labels out there including a long running partnership with Detroit Swindles brilliant Heist label. They are also behind the @Outplay label which has been has seen them curate some fantastic artist releases as well as regular 12's from Fouk, Daniel and Junktion.

They are just about to release a super 12" on their brand new 24 Carrot sub label simply titled #1. I've had a sneak preview and it's packed with dancefloor fire.
