Coming in straight from Malaga, Spain is the newest signing on Formatik Records, a young producer on the rise who has been rocking floors with releases on Clarisse Records, Safe Music and Escapism Musique in the past and is now about to make a massive statement with his „Tik2 EP“. And who is the guy we're talking about? Novodisc is the name!

The title track „Tik2“ gets at us with a straight banging, hypercompressed bassdrum section that introduces a full-on marching brutalism to House Music, paired with a seductive, yet uncompromising groove, killer vocal bits and ecstatic stabs for the ultimate dancefloor lift-off. This tune is an order, an order to dance!

The second tune on this single is „Sometimes“ in which the Spaniard on the rise once again provides a great example for his distinct trademark sound which one might file under the flag of Brutal(ist) House whilst adding excessive snare rolls and threatening hoover signals to the proven formula to create another ultra-effective peaktime banger. Check.

Teenage Mutants sets sail in a new journey into deep tech, shaping up a mosaic comprising of five original tracks.

Palais kicks off proceedings with a revving lead and ascending melody. The journey theme becomes evident from the outset, as the track marches along, gradually building up into an upbeat construction. Dub vibes aplenty come about in Couer, as tribal drums create a heavy-hitting yet pensive start. Anchored in sweeping synths and subtle elements, the percussion remains prominent throughout the cut, making it a great dancefloor weapon. 

Concorde, a term near-synonymous with aircrafts, one of three collaboration tracks with newcomer Heerhorst. It swiftly unveils dark and brooding atmospheres. With the help of an initial heavy kick drum doubled by percussive elements and an electricity-tinged lead, it conveys an intense ambiance. A male vocal chanting French lyrics kicks in, ultimately unveiling the reason for the overall morose mood: it’s all centered around love. Opera is a string-heavy arrangement where distorted loops reign supreme. Yet another slice of melancholy in the form of a moody lead makes its presence, instilling tension and dynamism. Breaking out into an array of synths at peak time, confusion intertwines with darkness, mixing together in the end. Jour plays upon a parallel sequence of loops, garnering complementary tones in a constant zig-zagging motion. Strobing noises and hellish melodies occupy opposing corners, mediated by a playful bassline.

It's been about a year since Dorade, the TechHouse-focused side project of the man Wolfgang Lohr who is well known for activities in other realms of the electronic music spectrum as well, last appeared on  Formatik Records and therefore we're glad to announce his newest musical outing for release this summer – the „Moving Jack EP“.

Starting our journey with the EPs title track “Moving Jack“ Dorade provides a dark'ish, rolling bass groove and energetic cowbell action as a solid foundation for highly energetic Disco outbursts, classic vocals bits and a climaxing, metallic synth line leading towards new states of ecstasy whenever it appears.

The „Arabian G8“ caters a driving, super precise set of drums an closed hats alongside a funky and playful bassline groove, more microcut vocal action, massive synth buildups touched by a slightly oriental / exotic vibe and a short, distinct main motif adding bits of extra energy to this classy tool whenever it pops up.    

Finally we need to „Check This Out“ because Dorade enters more stomping grounds with the last cut on this EP, giving us another dose of his trademark vocals handlings and touching base with high octane ElectroHouse vibes for peak time abuse, heavy breakdown action and drumrolls included!

Back for a second release on Formatik Records is KPD, the man from Madrid whose artistic abbreviation stands for Krusty Pinchas Discos and who has made some serious waves with his label debut in fall 2016. Now KPD is back on track with another massive release, a three tracker going by the name of „Ardiya EP“.

Opening with „My Flow“ and the help of vocalist Ardiya the young Spaniard provides quite uplifting vibes here, fusing positive TechHouse with sweet filters, a slightly ElectroHouse-oriented bassline and super catchy vocals to create a big room groover about to elevate crowds to ecstatic levels whenever hammered on a large scale P.A..

Following up is „My Ebb“, another peak time banger in which KPD effortlessly manages to amalgamate huge, rolling basslines, micro-cut vocal samples and a steadily pumping House foundation with growling low frequency synths, hoover-emulations and decent field recordings to a tool'ish, yet highly dancefloor functional effect.

Finally „My Decline“ weighs in a more stripped down take on masterly crafted TechHouse, relying on one hell of a sexy groove, sparse and soft stabs as well as a massive, snare roll-infused breakdown providing an extra push for pumping crowds in the heat of the night.

Established in 2009 by Berlin-based DJs and producers Jakob Hildenbrand and Franziskus Sell, known, praised and recognized by fans and followers of electronic club music under their conjunctional moniker Format B, Formatik Records was initially installed as a homebase for the pairs own productions.

After their so-called Motor Funk-sound, a forward thinking take on pumping, straightforward, high octane electronic music represented both by releases on labels like Highgrade Records or Stil For Talent as well as an endless string of captivating live sets, had caught the attention of clubbers and media alike the pair felt the need to create a platform of their own that would grant them full creative freedom as well as unlimited quality control for a fertile and fecund future.      

Whilst taking care of the A& R side of things Format B teamed up with electronic music veteran Hawks Grunert on management duties, setting up an imprint that soon gained massive traction, became one of the major forces on the global club circuit and quickly grew way beyond the teams initial plannings and intentions.
 
With its core sound being defined by the powerful Motor Funk / Tech-Funk production of its founders Formatik Records soon became home and mothership for a vast array of likeminded producers and friends whose single releases are still rocking dancefloors all over the place.

Spreading the labels trademark sound further and catering towards the needs of an ever growing fanbase the label soon expanded and started to set up Formatik Records club nights and showcases all over Europe back in 2014, selling out  shows and leaving punters in awe whereever these nights are taking place.

Aside from carving out an in demand niche as club promoters the Formatik Records crew also started to take care of their artists bookings with their very own booking agency Formatik Booking which was subsequently renamed, restructured and relaunched in 2017 under the name of VIVID Artists which is now successfully handling things bookingwise for a good portion of the labels roster plus a carefully picked selection of other aspiring as well as well established artists and performers.

In addition to these musings the ever busy Formatik Records team established a second, rapidly growing musical outlet in 2017. Embracing a broader musical spectrum than its Motor Funk-oriented mothership, the freshly founded label FMK+ provides a home for a new generation of producers covering a wide range of electronic club music incorporating a musical spectrum including all things House, ElectroHouse, TechHouse, Techno and beyond. With more than 10 red hot releases within the first year the new FMK+ branch has received much love amongst DJ's and from an international dancefloor crowd and quickly turned out to be a launchpad for fresh, upcoming talent from all over the globe.

Branching out even further Formatik Records launched an additional subdivision in early 2018 – FormatikSounds. Focusing on the ever growing demand for high quality samples and grooves this specific and one of a kind label provides exclusive sample packs for DJ's and producers alike, starting operations with Format:B's “TechHouse Signature Cuts”, an acclaimed release which sees the upfront production team unveiling some of their best kept secrets soundwise, catering to the needs of every creator of contemporary club sounds of today.
