Welcome back, Mr. Chris Hartwig! It's been a while since the German producer dropped his label debut single on Formatik Records back in 2015 but now he's finally back on track with two massive bangers for this years hot summer season.

The title track „Bang The Groove“ is a prime example for Chris Hartwig's highly appreciated production style which comes in with a bang indeed, providing a crisp foundation of precisely rolling, yet muscular TechHouse, razor sharp hi-hats and a well cut up and sliced vocal motif making sure that everyones on the floor is banging and bouncing and brocking out to this one for real.

With „Whoozle“ we see the man Chris Hartwig coming at us with another masterly crafted delivery, a tasteful, slightly deeper variation of his proven dancefloor smashing formula. With a groove sharp as a knife he brings on a proper pump, the bassline weighs in hot steaming vibes and a simple yet seductive interplay of two tightly connected motifs is more than enough to create a proper floor craze, especially after the tunes' massive, roll-driven breakdown.

Truesoul Records are proud to announce the release of ‘Let Your Soul Outside’, the debut album from Reset Robot in April 2014.

Behind the Reset Robot project is Dave Robertson, a producer who has released standout singles on labels like Dogmatik, Intacto and Adam Beyer’s Truesoul imprint over the past 5 years. Now he steps up with his debut album, the stunning ‘Let Your Soul Outside’.

The LP was written at Reset Robot’s home studio in Portsmouth and is an album of fascinating textures inspired by “all the music I listen to and love!” says the producer himself. “I've wanted to do this for a long time and all of a sudden I had 8 or 9 tracks together which were a little bit different. I added a few more and asked a close friend, Tom Powell from Mister Woo, to add vocals to a couple of them and it was ready.”
The result is a full length that touches on many different moods and emotions, starting with the melodically soothing tech funk of ‘Guitar Man’. Tracks like ‘Little Alice’ then pick up the momentum thanks to slick beats and crisp percussion and ‘Sizzler’ introduces a soulful vocal element over more tortured sounding, synth-laden grooves.

It’s not all full on dancefloor material though, with tracks like ‘Desi Beats’ it allows you a little time to breath thanks to their more widescreen and laidback vibe, whilst ‘Sausage’ strikes a truly emotive pose that has your thoughts turning inwards.

With this album Reset Robot proves both his range and his dexterity – no two tracks sound the same, and instead the Portsmouth producer explores every nook and cranny with a fine attention to detail that really makes the whole thing sing. ‘Let Your Soul Outside’ is a stellar achievement.

Back at our mammoth Stay True Scotland broadcast earlier this month, one track came real close to bringing The Caves' roof down during Nina Kraviz's powerhouse headline set. "I Wanna Go Bang" very nearly executed its titular statement – well, if the song was more about wrecking balls and less about...oh, never mind.

The vocals that stalk the track, so wholly devoid of humanity, rub up against razor-sharp claps and serious bounce in the subs. It's weighty warehouse techno of the highest order, set to devastate dark basements and big tents alike throughout the year. Simply put: Icelandic producer Bjarki has delivered a bomb.

Remember when Jannowitz records released “Octopussy EP” by BOHO and Maksim Dark early this year? Remember when we already spoiled you with our outstanding remixers Stefan Biniak, Acumen and Justin James? Remember when we promised you that you would hear more from our delicious Octopus? Well, the JAW family KEEPS ITS PROMISES! Octopussy was such a success that we asked completely new faces to join Jannowitz records and play with the Octopussy. And we couldn't believe what happened next. 

Three of our favourite producers said yes. The headquarter went crazy! The result is nothing less than an entire “Octopussy Remix EP” touching everything between house and techno - just like the original EP. You are very welcome!

Our first remixer need no introduction. Betoko has been a legend for years. There is a lot the London based producer could brag about: releases on Diynamic, Get Physical, Einmusika, Katermukke; shows at almost every club you have ever heard of. Ans still he took the time to deconstruct “Octopussy”. His remix dripping with bits and details you will recognise from the original and new little add-ons - notably a kick as strong as we like it. 

Two words to our second remixers: Township Rebellion. Moonootica's Moonbootique, Oliver Koletzki's Stil vor Talent, Reiner Zonneveld's Filth On Acid. And now: BOHO's Jannowitz Records?! These two humble guys have stormed the electronic music world within very short time. Their tracks always seeming to tell an epic tale from a far away land. And that is exactly what Township Rebellion did with Octopussy. The synth-melody floating above the 9-minutes-masterpiece makes it sound like something sent from heaven. Our favourite: The break - one of Township rebellion's signature elements. “There has to be another way. Stay with me.” - These words give us the shivers. And apparently all of our remixers as well.

Betoko kept them. Township Rebellion kept them. And our third remixer kept them as well. Kellerkind is our second Stil vor Talent act on this EP. He has been in the business for more than a decade and knows his shit. His housy Octopussy edition surprised us by using a lot of elements from the original but still achieving to sound totally different from the blueprint. Rounding “Octopussy Remix EP” off with nice vibe and some new killer members of our family.

Established in 2009 by Berlin-based DJs and producers Jakob Hildenbrand and Franziskus Sell, known, praised and recognized by fans and followers of electronic club music under their conjunctional moniker Format B, Formatik Records was initially installed as a homebase for the pairs own productions.

After their so-called Motor Funk-sound, a forward thinking take on pumping, straightforward, high octane electronic music represented both by releases on labels like Highgrade Records or Stil For Talent as well as an endless string of captivating live sets, had caught the attention of clubbers and media alike the pair felt the need to create a platform of their own that would grant them full creative freedom as well as unlimited quality control for a fertile and fecund future.      

Whilst taking care of the A& R side of things Format B teamed up with electronic music veteran Hawks Grunert on management duties, setting up an imprint that soon gained massive traction, became one of the major forces on the global club circuit and quickly grew way beyond the teams initial plannings and intentions.
 
With its core sound being defined by the powerful Motor Funk / Tech-Funk production of its founders Formatik Records soon became home and mothership for a vast array of likeminded producers and friends whose single releases are still rocking dancefloors all over the place.

Spreading the labels trademark sound further and catering towards the needs of an ever growing fanbase the label soon expanded and started to set up Formatik Records club nights and showcases all over Europe back in 2014, selling out  shows and leaving punters in awe whereever these nights are taking place.

Aside from carving out an in demand niche as club promoters the Formatik Records crew also started to take care of their artists bookings with their very own booking agency Formatik Booking which was subsequently renamed, restructured and relaunched in 2017 under the name of VIVID Artists which is now successfully handling things bookingwise for a good portion of the labels roster plus a carefully picked selection of other aspiring as well as well established artists and performers.

In addition to these musings the ever busy Formatik Records team established a second, rapidly growing musical outlet in 2017. Embracing a broader musical spectrum than its Motor Funk-oriented mothership, the freshly founded label FMK+ provides a home for a new generation of producers covering a wide range of electronic club music incorporating a musical spectrum including all things House, ElectroHouse, TechHouse, Techno and beyond. With more than 10 red hot releases within the first year the new FMK+ branch has received much love amongst DJ's and from an international dancefloor crowd and quickly turned out to be a launchpad for fresh, upcoming talent from all over the globe.

Branching out even further Formatik Records launched an additional subdivision in early 2018 – FormatikSounds. Focusing on the ever growing demand for high quality samples and grooves this specific and one of a kind label provides exclusive sample packs for DJ's and producers alike, starting operations with Format:B's “TechHouse Signature Cuts”, an acclaimed release which sees the upfront production team unveiling some of their best kept secrets soundwise, catering to the needs of every creator of contemporary club sounds of today.
