‘Parachutes’ immediately sets the senses adrift, enticing us in with multiple layers of dreamlike melodic haze, sparse broken drums and deep dubwise lows made for full body hypnosis, while the wicked bass bin rumbler ‘103 Alarm’ deals in mysterious swirling rhythms, with alien-like synth stabs and immersive drones turning up the suspense before a wash of melancholy and a whispering voice calls from beyond.

The choppy groove of ‘Juts’ makes for a deep jungle inspired house melter, the soundtrack to a surprise encounter with a friendly being from a distant planet. The final offering ups the stakes with the tech savvy ‘Play-Doh’ whipping us into an acidic frenzy full of heavy bass wobble and moments of sublime dancefloor euphoria.”

An aural depiction of an intergalactic mustang with a head of steam, Hyperspeed pushes an unrelenting pace. An avenue to showcase deftness for the journey, our hero utilizes continuous sonic movement to escort a thumping middle to perpetuity. A square synth wanders, with cutoff and resonance manipulation central to its never-ending movement.

PREMIERE: Glen S 'Hyperspeed' (Long Mix) [eclectic.]

Hanover-based Session Restore has been consistently releasing sophisticated house for more than a decade. Today we feature Love Bot, his contribution to the upcoming Just Stretchin’ various artists EP. 

The track is a five-minute deep house excursion getting straight to business right away. With hints of STL and Move D, the track’s chords and pads take turns back and forth in the spotlight, working in conjunction with the percussion to keep you dancing for the duration of the track. Towards the end of the track, the kick comes to a halt and descends gradually into the outro until it’s all over.

The whole EP is quite dance floor friendly, with the rest of the tracks featuring some euphoric breakbeat sounds. We hope to hear them frequently in clubs over the coming months.

Following a stellar run of releases and contributions from the likes of N-GYNN, LVCA, Thoma Bulwer, Voigtmann, Dawl & Desert Sound Colony, the transcontinental Superlux imprint announce their 8th edition by way of Paul Blackford’s ‘Weekend Warrior’ EP.

There was a degree of serendipity in the genesis story of the ‘Weekend Warrior’ EP. When label head Mike Gill’s wife Ines posted a video of him playing a Blackford track from deep in the crates, it quickly found its way to Paul via happenstance and the way of the web. Upon Paul sharing his entire back catalog as a token of appreciation for the support, the conversation started moving towards a contribution to the label.

Following a trawl through Paul’s extensive library of electro WIPs both new & old, four were selected for a mixdown in Thoma Bulwer’s studio. The result is the ‘Weekend Warrior’ EP.

The release speaks to the talent and versatility of Paul Blackford as a producer. The EP employs elements of classic Detroit electro & Drexciyan soundscapes with facets of modern house fit for an afternoon at Houghton. A truly diverse release suited to many moods and record bags.

Luke’s choice to release on Supercinema came quite naturally: “I’m very excited for this release since the record is being realized through a new label owned by great friends who are very passionate about the music & the community it creates.”
Same thoughts came to Patrick Russell, another great US producer, when asked to deliver a remix for this EP: ‘The label has a great vision and their aesthetic/design is really something special.’
