Infuse, sister label of the FUSE London imprint, is back with a fantastic fifth release. Set for release on May 12th, Infuse 05 consists of four wickedly underground house mutations, which showcase the considerable talents of promising newcomers Joesph Williams, Stuart Hawkins, Archie Hamilton & Dan Farserelli, alongside label staples Seb Zito and Rich NxT. 

Lead track ‘The Root’ comes courtesy of FUSE’s trusted resident duo Seb Zito & Rich NxT. As expected the pair kick off the EP strongly with the hypnotically percussive groove of ‘The Root’ captivating the listener from the outset, with a warm incessant hum which is sure to send listeners into frenzy. Archie Hamilton & Dan Farserelli’s ‘Ladbroke Groove’ is another brutally simple yet efficient number, characterized by clever arrangement, crisp percussion and a wandering haze of melody.

 ‘Dreams Of You’ by Stuart Hawkins raises the temperature with a swinging beat and weighty bass complemented by shimmering melodies and a pitched vocal, resulting in a sonic blitz of the highest calibre. Joseph Williams rounds off the EP with an off-kilter punchy rhythm and fathoms deep sounds, perfect for any afterhours dancefloor.

The fifth installment of the Infuse series is a classy package and continues the strong tradition of previous Infuse releases of delivering expertly forged underground sounds catering for the more discerning head.


Archie Hamilton & Dan Farserelli - Ladbroke Groove (INFUSE005)

Enzo Siragusa and Alexkid return to Fuse with their ‘Evolutions’ EP. Here the pair create two tracks that are the logical progression of the infamous ‘Kilimanjaro’ sound they crafted back in 2013 which has been a surefire highlight of Enzo’s sets of late.

Hailing from Paris Alexkid has over 20 years in the game under his belt. He is the proud owner of his own booking agency ‘510k’ housing some of the most promising talents the underground scene has to offer including Bella Saris and Archie Hamilton. Currently a resident at Rex Club via his own Deja-wu events, and also recently launching his Wu-Dubs imprint Alexkid still demonstrates a strong passion for electronic music and shows no sign of slowing down.

Alexkid steps up with his trademark dubby style on the flipside with ‘Wear Your Cape'. Razor sharp percussion and a cavernous bass take the track to deliciously lofty heights.

2015 saw Damian Lazarus create his most ambitious project to date in The Ancient Moons, producing a full length album ‘Message From The Other Side’ with a wide assortment of vocalists and collaborators from around the world. They went on to support Roisin Murphy on tour, gain acclaim from the likes of Dazed & Confused and Lazarus became the final coverstar of the year in the UK”s Mixmag magazine.

Now the tracks from ‘The Other Side’ have been reinterpreted by an assortment of stars, from techno stalwarts Juan Atkins & Kimyon Huggins, to German experimental talent Kölsch, and Acid Pauli’s sprawling fusion of weirdness. The original material is ploughed in new and surprising directions by Black Butter’s own Gorgon City and Mehmet Asian, resident at Berlin’s infamous Wilde Renate club.

Talent from Lazarus’ label Crosstown Rebels, including Francesca Lombardo, DrumTalk and Israeli trio Red Axes also produce their own visions for the music, all of which retain the mysticism of the original with added dancefloor appeal. The final four tracks revisit some of the biggest moments from the Moons to date, as the album revisits interpretations from Jamie Jones, Dixon, Serge Devant and &Me.

Co-produced by James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco, Arctic Monkeys, Florence & The Machine), The Ancient Moons was always a unique project, which has now been stretched to include the flavours of some of the most exciting artists shaping the musical landscape right now.

Recorded in Mexico, LA and London, ‘The Other Side’ features instrumentalists from Mozambique, Guinea, Pakistan, Egypt, America and even Mexico’s own Yucatan Symphony Orchestra.

With countless new music being released at a daily basis it's hard to find the gems that stick to you for a longer period of time nowadays. But Portuguese DJ, producer and label head Pedro Martins has managed to find exactly these tracks for his label Karakter Records. His formula of success sounds simple: the tracks have to have a strong character. But not only does Pedro dig for new music but has implemented his own trademark sound. His summer remake and second remix approach of Switchdance's track 'The Black Tape' that is also featured in his latest art:cast (www.soundcloud.com/torture-the-artist/artcast-32-by-pedro-martins) is a portrayal of Pedro's perception of a laid back summer track that still captures the mysticism of both, the original and his first remix that came along with the 'Black Tape Remix EP'. As soon as the listener is soaked into Pedro's synth- and atmosphere-defining synth-pad sounds the Amsterdammer flips the switch and lets the the soundscapes escalate before returning to the original summer vibe of the remix. 

Switchdance's EP 'The Black Tape Remixes' were released April 20th, 2018 on Karakter Records.

A new duo launches by the name of Ghost Vision. Joining forces with an introspective, uplifting debut slice on Kompakt, the pair are two well-known figures Thomas Gandey aka Cagedbaby, member of Matom alongside Matt Edwards, and Daniel McLewin, half of UK-based production duo Psychemagik. Fruit of these blissful moments when no imaginary wall obstructs the vision and the stream of consciousness gives up to the entrancing magic of the creative flow, 'Saturnus' is an upright mano a mano between two musicians and their gear, unchained from all preconceptions and biases; real (machine) talk as the hip-hop heads would say. 

Straight soul oration poured off the cosmic scapes generated by a good old Moog Voyager, '70s string machines', Oberheim OBXA, 303, Space Echo and the too little-known and equally little-used Korg Lambda, Ghost Vision's debut EP traverses remote kosmische-indebted expanses but hits close to the core with its deft mix of slow-burning spectral funk, textured outerspace pads and further stirring heart-searching harmonics. Subtly arranged yet leaving maximum room to the lively force of its original layout, it is a lovingly crafted piece of emotive and psychedelic magnitude that's seamlessly given birth to. Enter the greater deep and important world of Ghost Vision.

Ghost Vision - Zuul Passage

Sam Barker (@voltek) has had a long ongoing relationship with Berghain and Ostgut Ton, having released two LPs and various EPs as one half of Barker & Baumecker and hosting regular nights at the club since September 2008 as co-founder of the label Leisure System. 2017 marked the beginning of his solo residency, 2018 sees his first solo release with Ostgut Ton.

Both as a musician and label owner, Barker operates on the fringes of techno, balancing experimentation with functionality. On ‘Debiasing’, he takes a hard look at the musical elements often considered necessary to maintain dancefloor momentum, with four distinct tracks of morphing synth stabs and paired down metronomic rhythms in varying time signatures. While there is no kick, snare, or clap to be heard, the result is not experimental techno deconstructions but driving, hypnotic and unlikely dancefloor tools.

Already some years ago the idea had come up to re-issue some of Alex Krueger's now sought-after (and increasingly expensive) early works as Korsakow, Dub Taylor, PsychoPlasma and many other alter egos and collaborations as well as pieces from more recent days that, with new technology available, can now be re-mixed and re-mastered to audiophile standards. 

First in a series of restored recordings of classic tracks are two Tigerskin songs from 2008, originally released on Dirt Crew Recordings. His big jam 'Peters Secret Weapon' and the trance-infused 'Platin'. The last track is taken from the second release on the short-lived Monza Records that pretty much disappeared at some point, and unfortunately, took with it this beautiful piece called 'The Beach', one of our personal favourites from Alex's musical output in 2008.

All tracks were restored and mixed again from their original parts by Stefan Janson and re-mastered at www.salz-mastering.com.
