Originally from Weird Island, Dj Pfreud has been active almost 30 years on the Montreal electronic music scene. His style is a concentrated flavour of house, electro and neo-disco. Pfreud was in high demand during the early golden rave days in the 90s and had a residency in renowned clubs such as Tiga’s Montreal legendary Club Sona in late ’90s and early 2000. He shared the decks with, among others, Green Velvet, Carl Cox, Misstress Barbara, Tiga, Felix Da Housecat and Darren Emerson (Underworld). 

In addition to having released on Gung-Ho! Recordings in London, Odrex in Berlin, not to mention a stunning remix on Montreal’s own IceWax records, Pfreud has been keeping busy in studio with his new Hoopalaï duo and Thee FFF trio (Get Physical, Kindisch, Poésie Angulaire) with Lebaron and Felix Da Housecat.

During the recent years, always on the lookout for new techniques and sound mangling, he’s also experimented with a very unique multidisciplinary live music-painting-visual art project called Electro-Acrylique. The project has been booked in great festivals in Montreal (Mutek, AIM, Montreal en Lumières) and also presented at the world renowned 360 Dome at the Sociéte des Arts Technologiques Montreal (SAT) for a 3 weeks artist residency.

After recently firing a few bootleg remixes with the support of Fatboy Slim, Laurent Garnier, Paco Osuna, Fred Everything, Kasper Bjorke, Jimpster, Alexi Delano, Quentin Harris, Tommy Sunshine and Dj Sneak amongst others, time has come for Pfreud to deliver us a sweet 4 tracker ep from his solo project on his own “Weird Island Grooves” label project. This is just a glimpse of Pfreud’s wide sound palette. From not so down downtempo to straight up not so up uptempo, this ep on his own and new imprint Weird Island Grooves will take you surfing on space waves and will definitely give you and idea of Pfreud’s vast palette and what’s to come.

Ash is a jazz soul contemporary singer songwriter based in London.
Half Italian and half Peruvian Ash started improvising on her favorite djs live set and later on discovering jazz, genre very important for her.
Her voice is characterise by a very warm and sensuous vocal tone and great flexibility between different genres.
