"Embrace your primal nature and let the frenzied beat lead you back to your ancestral roots". Leese and Capiuz join forces for a new split ep on Over My Body. Along with two mutual remixes of previous recordings and a brand new track from the experimental oriented duo.

Capiuz is the experimental dance project of producer and performer Luca Favaro. Based in Italy, his genre-merging production focuses on exploring rhythm and sound design in a club context. Often leaning towards live performances, Capiuz’s music takes the form of a heavy hitting outburst filled with heavy bass, breakcore progressions and granular textures.

Leese, based in Brussels, is an electronic music artist who has gained recognition for her unique style blending break and tribal influences. She recently signed two EPs with label Yuku, one of which was named the Best Bandcamp Release of April, and performs at clubs and festivals throughout Europe. On stage, Leese delivers a passionate and energetic performance, mesmerizing her audience with her powerful beats and enchanting atmospheres. She is becoming increasingly well-known in the electronic/bass music scene and her project is continually evolving and developing.

Following up off his early 2022 NHS EP 'Imitation Plantae’, NHS bossman Galtier brings back the weirdo-bass vibe with a panic-stricken selection of 4 tracks spanning a plethora of BPMs; no surprises there. A surprising switch to hardware production however has caused a healthy shift in the general presence of Galtier's tracks. Distinctly churning in mood and flow, Galtier’s third contribution to his own catalog are tunes for the place where the roof drips.

The nauseating melter-tech approach to the array of tracks reek of panic-mode energy; with jarring hooks that contort through the resonant, crispy aether of each piece. The rawness of hardware shines through on each iteration of this new focus for Galtier: a distinct step in the direction of swampy bass music that glistens just right as those raw frequencies should.

Often described as the "pre-Babel language of dance music" NPLGNN's artifacts are out of time, with the only intent to shake walls and bodies.

UK producer Renslink calls IM103 his first effort focused on the dancefloor, but it belies a lifetime steeped in it. This is prime material for the most advanced of DJs.

The first cut, Static, blends heavy, droning atmospheric sound design with the half-time template of dubstep, complete with jungle vocals. Before reaching the first half, however, it goes into a healthy techno gallop, making the track a perfect set opener if drama is your thing.

From that we go into the three-on-two mindbend of In My Mind, full of beautiful rhythmic trickery and rave culture nods in the sampled female vocals.

Cenotaph feels like a Pinch & Mumdance dub that they kept for themselves around the Control/Strobelight era, all rolling, persistent kick, dubbed-out dready vocals and dystopian hoover.

In Touching The Void we find a moment of drama and relative tenderness, as cinematic strings and choir soar over a busy rolling breakbeat. Occasionally, the proceedings are punctuated by a reese bass and bleeps fill that keep it fresh (an you on your toes).

Closer Silence is a mutant dembow wobbler with alien vocals by Nivalis, like dancehall for after the nuclear apocalypse, when we’ll have all the extra limbs we’ll need to dance to music like this.

Renslink - In My Mind

We premiere music from Torino-based artist Ninja Exotic Machine as the duo debuts Early Reflex for their 14th release. We feature ‘Apple Brucho’ an intricate piece of deconstructed hard-drum heaven.

The Italian experimental duo of Ninja Exotic Machine debuted on Early Reflex with their ‘Red Ant’ EP. The Pho Bho Records affiliates Matteo Confetti and Kakofonico showcase their deep love for off-kilter rhythms and cinematic style soundscapes on this one.

‘Red Ant’ was created in a slightly different mindset as the production process was based around the soundtrack for a visionary videogame. It blends various influences from riddim and dancehall which have been rearranged into a weirder and more unearthly manner through syncopated rhythms, stretched vocals, and deep basslines – bringing the definitive Ninja-Exotic-Machine-touch to this idiosyncratic project.

We premiere Apple Brucho – a forward-facing take on tribal rhythms, fusing glitchy IDM crackles and swells with syncopated drum grooves. Low and punchy kick-drum are on display here as they set the scene for a leftfield look into classic tribal club music. The duo jerk up the BPM on this one and create a wall of sound, surrounded by a plethora of jungle-inspired rhythmic sounds. The rainforest meets space travel here.

Miss Trouli - Rompish

Beat Machine presents the ninth edition of its essential club-oriented series Swinging Flavors. BMRSF#009 features the DC-based duo Ornette Hawkins, which comprises the live session musician Marc Blackwood and the music engineer Maxwell Houston.

The artist composed the captivating Return to Never, which kicks off fast and fluid; serene piano chords and inescapable drum kicks, set to urge for the entire track. Just a few minutes in and the placid mood gets disrupted by the dense basslines, echoes of the mid 90s UK jungle scene, epitomized by the Metalheadz’ Platinum Breakz Series, to which Ornette Hawkins refer to. Their distinctive touch shows in the abstract jazz sounds, finely woven into the structure, which adds a subtle expressiveness to the track.

On the B side, Return to Never is reworked by the drumfunk master dgoHn. Known as the pioneer of this unique genre, the UK based producer delivers an eccentric remix; as if to close a circle, the track begins with violent and chopped-up basslines, enhanced by juxtaposed breakbeats and samples - distinguishing feature of the artist. Towards the end, bashful acid-jazz notes re-surface among the meandering drum sequences, glossing the track with an irresistible dreamy groove
