Hello and welcome once again to the Depth Perception Sessions. This week we welcome back a good friend of the show, Nick Newman. Nick brings us an hour and a half of warm organic house vibes to thaw those winter chills.

Bio:

British-born DJ/producer Nick Newman has established himself as one of the most original and deeply-textured artists in the electronic music scene. Newman’s music, characterized by its warm meditative quality and ethereal soundscapes, has made its way onto industry-leading labels such as Armadillo Records, Seven Villas, The Soundgarden, Sudbeat Music, Manual Music, and Stripped Recordings. His sound has also garnered support from the world’s most influential progressive house DJ’s such as Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Nick Warren, Gai Barone, Pablo Bolivar, Kora, John Fleming, Solid Stone, Nicolas Rada, Nick Varon, and more. Equally as impressive, Newman began his career as a DJ at age 14. He frequents the airwaves with regular guest mixes and radio shows where his sets range from 115bpm downtempo to 124bpm+ progressive house. Jacob Waxman is Melbourne-based Canadian producer, DJ, composer, and mixer who crafts rich and vibrant, forward-thinking dance and ambient music under the moniker Waxman. Bio:

Born in August 1985 in a beautiful city - Gdańsk. He never went to music lessons or studied at a music school, but Marcin can say that he grew up with music and inherited his interests in music from his uncles. Listening from hip-hop to dance, he became interested in electronic music and began to explore its roots. Michael Cretu and his Enigma, Kraftwerk, Jean-Michel Jarre are the people who exerted the greatest influence on Marcin. He started making his own remixes in 1999, but 2008 was a real breakthrough. Today he has already collaborated with such labels as Manual Music, Magnitude, Particles, Bonzai Progressive, Electronic Tree, Stellar Fountain, Mistique, LuPS, Suffused. Depth Perception Sessions #94 - Neptun 505

This week we welcome a very special guest to the show. From the US, the one and only Darin Epsilon joins us with an exclusive airing of his incredible live set recorded at the Ritter Butzke showcase, hosted by ODD (Organization of Daylight Dancing) on March 23 at Masada in Milan, Italy.

Bio:
Internationally acclaimed DJ, producer, radio host, and label owner Darin Epsilon is often referred to as a pioneer of Melodic House & Techno and Progressive House. 
His Perspectives radio show and podcast reaches tens of thousands of listeners every month. He launched his Perspectives Digital record label in November 2010 as an extension of the brand, further solidifying his influence and presence within the global dance community.
In 2017 he moved from his LA home to Berlin, widely known as the electronic music capital of the world, and began his DJ residency at the top Berlin club Ritter Butzke in 2022. In 2016 he was nominated for ‘Best Progressive House Artist’ in the annual Beatport Awards, and in 2011, John Digweed named him one of the winners in his ‘Structures Two’ DJ Competition sponsored by Bedrock and Ableton Live. He was also the first artist ever to release a tutorial on producing Progressive House after teaming up with SonicAcademy.com

Bio:

Alain M. started DJ’ing in his early 20s and played a variety of clubs. From
teenage influences in progressive rock, metal and blues, and later New York
and Chicago house, Dutch techno and early trance, his style has evolved
towards the more melodic, infectiously rhythmic and thoughtful sounds of
progressive house, with a particular fondness for Argentinian productions.

Over his years as a DJ, Alain has cultivated a signature melodic, danceable, and thoughtful style with enough surprises to keep even the most devout listeners on their toes. 

He has organized and collaborated in a number of events including Levitar, Sunday Meet & Beat, Sit-Down Sessions, Shake my Thursday, Ultraviolet, Expeditions and more, attracting a thoughtful crowd who stay mesmerized by his melodic, danceable sets, always peppered with delightfully unexpected sonic elements.

In 2019 he started Ottawa Prog Vibes, which has grown into a weekly radio show that has been broadcast on several radio stations including Cosmos Radio (Germany), Dinámica Radio (Argentina), and currently Beach Radio (UK), Chill Lover Radio (New York) and Blast the Radio (Ottawa).

Alain M. is also a guest DJ submitting regular sets to several radio and online
outlets. He is a resident on UK-based Beach Radio and on X-Beat Radio (France, Belgium).

Alain has also produced and co-produced a few original tracks, released on
Future Avenue, BeKool Records, What Happens Records, with more on the way.

He has appeared as a guest on a number of shows in several countries
including the UK, Argentina, Spain, The Netherlands, Brazil, Sri Lanka, Peru,
Turkey, Israel and the US. In Canada, he has been featured as a guest DJ at
several events by Ottawa-based Music.Art.Ppl, on CHUO FM’s Vanguard Pulse

Bio:

Sweden’s Erik Pettersson is better known as S​onic Union,​ a prolific progressive house and melodic techno producer and DJ. With a DJing and production career spanning over 20 years, his versatility, experience and sheer talent enables him to turn his hand from producing, remixing and mastering to DJing and label management.

With over 200 releases to his name to date on lauded labels such as Anjunadeep, Sudbeat, Replug, Somatic and Global Underground, he has seen continued support from world class DJs such as Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J. He has also remixed and been remixed by high profile artists such as Quivver, Jim Rivers, Cid Inc and Jamie Stevens to name just a few.

Erik also owns and manages well­ established label L​owbit Records,​which celebrated its milestone 150th release on 29th September 2014. Hungarian artist Gabor Kaszas, better known as East Cafe has been producing intelligent progressive house and breakbeat records ever since the mid 2000's. MICHAEL DIETZE (Deep Tone Rebel) - DJ since 1991 Musik mit ♥ Winner MDR Sputnik Turntable Days DJ Contest 2003

 After a break of almost 7 years, Micha returned to the decks in 2017. In the 90s, the veteran of the Leipzig techno scene made a name for himself as "Ditte" not only in Germany. 

He was co-organizer of the legendary EASTSIDE parties (1993-2001) and ran the MolenDyk club from 2003 to 2006. In 2003, he deservedly won the MDR Sputnik Turntable Days DJ Contest ahead of 49 other DJs. He is a master like no other at always incorporating that certain something into his sets. 

The brilliant mixing and track selection show that there are 30 years of experience behind the decks. He makes music with his heart for the hearts and souls that he captures with his "age-appropriate techno". He has played alongside Monika Kruse, Rob Acid, Johannes Heil, Frank Lorber, Roland Casper, Paul Kalkbrenner, Neil Landstrumm, Mate Galic, Tony Rohr, Jacek Sinkiewicz and many more.

This week we welcome Sebastian Campo to deliver us Episode #108. He brings a beautiful vibe, full of organic grooves and dreamy melodies.

Bio:

Raised in a house with a dad who listened to Pink Floyd, Supertramp, folk music, and a mom that listened to Bee Gees, Giorgio Moroder and Donna Summer, Sebastian was able to develop love for energetic and progressive music.

Around year 2000-2001 He discovered trance and house music on some GateCrasher, D-mode cd compilations. Producers such as Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten (System F back then), Mauro Picotto, P.U.S.H where part of his beginnings.

Throughout the years he was able to learn and discover other genres such as melodic & deep house, progressive house and techno.

Nowadays his tracks go from Organic, Deep to Progressive with breaks and melodies all over the place, having the likes of Joseph Capriatti, Paul (AR) RIGOONI, Fernando Ferreyra, d-phrag, Ziger, Savvas, Federico Monachesi, K Loveski among other producers.

Depth Perception Sessions #107 - Yuriy from Russia

Hello and welcome once again to The Depth Perception Sessions.

This week we welcome the uniquely talented Frenchman Max Tenrom to take care of Episode #109.

Bio:

Max TenRoM was born in Toulouse, the famous Pink City from Southern France. He started playing music from an early age, learning his piano skills through Jazz. Once he had become comfortable on the piano he switched his focus to synthesizers and acoustic drums. As a result, he naturally started exploring electronic music production.

His current style is hard to label as he uses his many influences to create his own craft. Usually dynamic, his productions can be soft or radically heavy, sometimes melancholic or upliftings. Max navigates between an Organic & Exotic Downtempo style and some Deep & Melodic Techno sonorities. The most important is to transmit emotions anyway.

On stage Max TenRoM mixes electronic and acoustic sounds with synths, pad machines and acoustic drums. He uses all his energy to add live Bongos and Darbouka fills to make his live-set a complete audiovisual & organic performance. He recently played with Sam Paganini, Joachim Pastor, Tebra, Sorä, Unders, Worakls, Sahalé, Dandara, Jabberwocky, Paji or Joris Delacroix to name a few, now called to open the biggest Techno and Organic House artists. Recently Max has also been selected for the BPM Contest 2023 and performed live on Clubbing TV in over 90 countries.

Counting millions of plays and regularly in the top Beatport, his music is released on various renowned labels, well received in the musical industry and supported by big channels, radios and talented artists. His tracks were played by Above&Beyond, Sabo & Goldcap at the famous Burning Man Festival, Guy Laliberté... Max does not stop at his personal project, he is also the leader of the CULTE collective in his hometown Toulouse.
