Demuir marks an inaugural release on Hot Creations with High. Alive. And Dirty., a
diverse four track EP made up of all original records.

The EP opens with Santa and The Elf. A penetrating bassline ratchets up and down, as horn
like synths whir occasionally in the background, alongside tassel-like hi-hats. Up next, the title
track High. Alive. And Dirty. provides stunning contrast. A happy, funk-fuelled number, the
track incorporates disco elements with “positive and soulful vibes”, before Rawness - Beat 3
features a “raw native structure”, bongo sounding drums and tropical vocals to from a well-
rounded, feel-good record. Eerbawdy Wants to Deeezsko rounds off the EP in fine form, with
more disco elements and chiming, emotional keys.

Canadian-based Demuir is a distinctive talent in the electronic music sphere. A prolific
producer, Demuir has already made a home on labels including I’m A House Gangster as well
as Cassy’s Kwench Records, whilst he is soon set to release on Loco Dice’s iconic Desolat
imprint.

UK producer, DJ and renowned radio presenter Monki debuts on Jamie Jones’ Hottrax alongside vocalist Wayne Hernandez, with PBR Streetgang and David Berrie remixes. 

Monki has accomplished a lot over the years. Whether as a presenter for BBC Radio 1, Defected Radio or Rinse FM, running her ‘Monki & Friends’ events, not to mention curating a Fabriclive mix, she’s unquestionably one of the UK’s best dance music exports. As well as release on her &Friends label, her productions have been landing on leading imprints like Weapons, DFTD, and iVAV. Debuting on Hottrax alongside London’s jazz singer Wayne Hernandez, she now adds another to her discography, following releases from East End Dubs, Cuartero, Popof, and Jamie Jones himself. 
 
‘I Woke Up’ features a solid analogue kick, atmospheric stabs, flashy cymbals and Hernandez’ perfectly treated vocals which reverberate through the sonic space and captivate attention.  

Respected for their excellent releases on Skint in recent years, Kurtz Records founders PBR Streetgang serve up two versions; locking in a compelling groove on their ‘Italo Dromo Mix’ with a simple but effective saturated snare, layering in a retro synth, evolving pads and spacey risers, before their ‘Italo Dromo Dub’ strips things back, emphasizing their beat programming and detailed key work.  

Returning Hottrax artist and Play It Say It producer David Berrie concludes matters with a swinging remix by switching up the rhythm using chopped up vocals, slick hats, rolling sub patterns and subtle keyboard flutters.

What is in the Museum of No Art? Not paintings, but visions. Not sculptures, but empty spaces full of potential. It is within this inverted gallery that Mona Steinwidder traces fabulous forms with synthesizer, clarinet and effects. Under the moniker Museum Of No Art, she has created an album that floats in a hazy lacuna between realities, rooted in propulsive and deep bass resonance, but also footloose, playfully deconstructing language and mixing in layers of echoing synthetic and organic tones. The fascinating result of these unfettered experiments resonate as an imaginary cadavre-exquis played by DJ Screw, Arthur Russell, MJ Lallo, Poppy Nogood, and Laurie Anderson.
With a background in fine art and music, over the years Steinwidder has created and released music under the pseudonym Mohna, as part of the experimental pop band Me Succeeds, and collaborates with composer Alexander Schubert and electronic dance music producer Christian Löffler. Recently, shifting her focus more on improvisation and experimental music, she moved to Vienna for six months to concentrate on experimenting with synthesizers, samplers and voice. Her intention was to build a “playground” that would leave space for improvisation and allow for a meditative and intuitive process. This solo exploration allowed her to return home with a new way to play.
“I like this idea of an open and light structure that can grow and transform and leaves space in all directions. Something without a clear beginning and ending. A rough, short note. Today I’m in the mood to sing, but tomorrow I might be in the mood to just float on an ocean of synths or to play a solo on my clarinet. I am a never-ending process and I am many. The Museum Of No Art album is a collection of days and moods, images and circumstances experienced and immediately recorded in the last year.” - MONA
