Finn Morrison, AKA Culchee, provides us with our next Crush Collective mix. Culchee is no stranger to some upbeat tunes to stomp your feet and move your hips to. 

Culchee performances have been hosted in various settings, in the likes of the Maynooth Students Union, Brady’s and Wigwam (and he’s no stranger to spinning tracks at a rave either🤠). Culchee keeps things juicy, upbeat and flowing with a saucy variation of tracks from genres like electro, ghetto tech and break beats. He takes inspiration from the likes of Jensen Interceptor, Juicy Selekta and and DJ Fuck off to deliver some upbeat beat and provocative energy.

If he’s not on the mic shouting he’ll be filling the dance floor/field.

01: Panda Drey

U.K. based artist Kamzuqi is a music man through and through. His family raised him on reggae, garage and jungle from the early 2000’s and the passion for underground bass music is a part of his DNA at this point 🧬

He co-founded the Manchester based @solitude.mcr who, since lockdown, have been an influential label in the UKG scene and beyond. SOLITUDE have thrown sell-out shows, a long standing guest mix series with some of the biggest names in bass, as well as a new string of releases, moving them into record label territory (this also means Kam has access to a bunch of hard to find, unreleased music) 👀

Kam is a confident music journalist having studied it at Uni whilst learning to mix. He’s now making progress with his DJ sets and building his skills with his own productions and edits. His recent shows include a set at @coalesce_festival in Wales and joining the @warpedevents crew in Manchester for their weekly Wednesday takeovers at XLR.

A dynamic and electrifying artist who thrives on the energy of live performances. With a magnetic presence and a passion for drum and bass, Elicit is a force to be reckoned with.

Hailing from Roscommon, Elissa has been immersed in the world of music from a young age. Her journey as an artist began on stage singing and dancing at musicals and has since evolved to include dancing for the wonderful music group PrYmary Colours and DJing as Elicit. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Enei, Bou, and Ben Snow, Elicit is on a mission to unleash only the filthiest and most exhilarating tunes to her audience.

Elicit continues to push herself to take on new and exciting challenges such as playing livestreams on Manchester's Bloc2Bloc and playing live at Open Deck sessions in Dublin.

Keep an ear to the ground and an eye on the stage, as Elicit's electrifying presence and filthy dnb beats are sure to leave an enduring imprint on the music landscape.

A Sub Culture are a Cork based collective who specialise in all things D&B, Neurofunk, Jungle, Breaks and Bassline. They are a crew made up of both DJ’s & MC’s and are known for their wild club nights throughout Cork!
On this month’s instalment of the show, we have one of the collective’s residents Steam Lite representing the collective.

Introducing Steam Lite, a Drum and Bass maestro igniting dance floors since 2014. Inspired by hip-hop, he blends genres from breaks to Neurofunk, Jungle, and Liquid D&B. Steam Lite's magnetic presence draws in curious minds across the Emerald Isle, cultivating a tight-knit community through A Sub Culture. He curates immersive art shows and exceptional events in Cork City, seamlessly merging music and visual art for unforgettable experiences. As an ambassador of collaboration and creativity, Steam Lite leaves an indelible mark on Cork City and beyond, uniting people through music, art, and community.

Coming from the bog lands of Kildare our next DJ, Culchee is not one to be missed. From making his first appearance in Early 2023 this scoundrel has gone from strength to strength showcasing his mixing abilities through genres such as ghetto tech, electro, Hard groove, Techno, Jungle and Garage, he does it all.
From very early on in his career, Culchee was able to land his first club night gig in Dublin’s well-known club, Wigwam (fka Twisted Pepper). Since then, it has opened Culchee’s wider range of opportunities to play in many other venues, from Dublin to Kildare, Galway to Carlow, Culchee is slowly making his way around Ireland

Once Culchee made his first booth appearance in Wigwam, he opened the floor and set the mood for electro queen Estella Boersma. This influenced his many other local gig’s night involvement with Irish collectives: InsideOut, Instinct Society and HRLA.
As Culchee performed to the best of his abilities, he was able to build an audience through his range of genres and styles through his mixing. Culchee pulls influences from a wide range of artists, striving to create a unique style of mixing and set progression.
