This is a piece of music made by cutting an improvised recorded phrase into ten pieces of two to four bars in length, and arranging them in the order in which they appeared on a random number chart. The title refers to the sequence of numbers that appeared in the random number table.

In a first look, I'm using the Sarajewo as sound source & experimenting with feedback. At the end is a more traditional melodic sequence. Uses lightly applied salt & pepper FX (EQ, compression, reverb)& multi-tracking. Notes are to best recollection.

0:00 - Input tone with feedback control near 8 to get a constant cycling feedback tone, then using clocked Pressure Points to modulate the delay time for pitch shift effects to create a solo clip, then pitch shifted copies of the clip for harmony

1:37 - Use a faster clocked Pressure Points blended with a Math self-cycle as a kind of vibrato to further torture the delay time input, again treating it as a kind of pitch input. Multi-tracked the clips

2:15 - An LFO is modulated thru a VCA by a PEG and directed to the time delay input - modulating the modulator. Sarajewo set to high tone

2:43 - Continuation of prior, but continuously varied the speed of the LFO (from an E370, medium setting from 7 to 15 Hz)

3:22 - Created & played a single stage in a USTA sequencer, routed a fixed Zadar pattern thru a sample & hold then to the sequencer as a pitch CV - the sequencer acts as a quantizer (you can hear the notes stair-casing) and then re-recorded a similar set of clips with envelope articulation as well. Added a little delay section of rhythmic ticks from extremely short envelopes towards the end.

This track was pulled from Lockdown Jam 4, improvised live at home on 10/05/2020, using the inspiring work of of @idin-samimi-mofakham, @martyna-kosecka and Michael Vallone (@taraexperiment), and some contemporary piano provided by Heidi Hart as source material.

It's dark mysterious feel conjures up images of a North African labyrinthine medina, hence the title! 

Unlike most of our tracks, where we do use a certain amount of remixing of the original jams, a technical issue meant we only had the master track to work with, so this an edit of the live improv as it happened!

For this challenge:
Create a “musical collage,” however you might define it, likely using the equivalent of cut and paste. 

this is what I did:
1- Took and old track provided by my friends at Ethnic Fusion Sound (an Indian Raga with classical instrumentation and voice) kept the Tanpura and Santoor.
2- Took some tracks from and old song of mine, (titled Psyche, unreleased), kept electric bass and drum beats with synthesizers (here hardware old school: Emu Proteus, Emu Vintage Keys and a Korg T3, this was before software vst synths!)
3-Added some orchestral samples from my own collection of CD and vinyl (some usual suspects: Beethoven and Sibelius and a bit of Bach)

Francisco Uberto (b.1988) shapes his musical ideas with intuition from within the digital side of sound. In his music he manages expectations in the most imaginative ways possible, like a cold war of emotions. The horizon of his realizations extend from solo pieces to orchestral works with and without the use of electronics.

He received training in composition in Argentina (UNC), and France (CNSMD Paris, and IRCAM), and was supported by several prestigious foundations from Europe, and Argentina since 2012. 

His music has been vibrating with renowned international ensembles since his arrival in Europe. Resident composer at Casa de Velázquez, Ibermúsicas, and Cité des Arts, Francisco, today is composer in residence at Couvent des Récollets in Paris.
