Following on from their Record Store Day ‘Looped EP’ release, which featured remixes by Dauwd and Lubomyr Melnyk, Kiasmos – made up of Ólafur Arnalds and Janus Rasmussen – return with three new tracks and a remix by Tale Of Us.

Recorded in various locations including Reykjavík and Berlin, the EP opens with ‘Drawn’, a four-minute percussion fuelled track with gentle piano motifs. ‘Gaunt’ features the addition of ambient synths and a drum loop, underpinned by slow-moving chords. Title track ‘Swept’ which the duo offered to fans as a surprise gift in form of a free download card at previous show dates, showcases a more club-oriented beat structure alongside Kiasmos’ signature emotive instrumentation. 
 
Closing the EP is a remix from Berlin-based duo Tale of Us who met Kiasmos in London and twist the original downbeat title track
into their distinctively dark aesthetic. Pulsating hats and a driving bass loop add pace as the track builds toward an epic breakdown.

The ‘Swept EP’ will be released on 12”/DL via Erased Tapes on November 20th, 2015.

With episode one from brand curators Tale Of Us encapsulating their hugely successful Afterlife events and record label, the second offering in the exploratory concept’s mix series sees Vaal embark on an intrepid ‘Voyage’ of her own - which is now available to listen via Soundcloud.  

Having already appeared on the Afterlife imprint for a soulful and lamenting three-track EP named ‘Wander to Hell’ last October, Vaal’s offering for Voyage 002 keeps with the possessive spirit of Afterlife and traverses techno where others retreat. In this fittingly free-feeling 100-minute mix, Vaal conjures up the emotions that saturate her minimal style; “equally human, equally electronic”, resulting in an experience that’s always arresting and deeply affecting.

A regular guest of Afterlife as it tours - recent dates include a UK debut and showcases in Miami for Art Basel as well as Mexico - Vaal earmarks herself as a rising talent in 2017 and one that is not scared to experiment.

An Argentinean artist raising a storm through his ever-growing body of production work, Nicolas Rada, continues to cause a stir in his home country and beyond. As he returns to Particles with a brand-new EP, the Russian themed, "Sheremetyevo" is a welcome arrival.

An accomplished musician, Nicolas Rada grew up in the bustling Buenos Aries capital, studying piano and with a passion for percussion. Maturing over time, Rada began to experiment in the multi-faceted electronic musical form, taking his audio cues from UK act, Radiohead, and the audio experimentations that became a staple feature of the band's work. Further inspired by underground DJs including Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo and Stephan Bodzin, the Nicolas Rada production sound began to emerge from a melting pot of ideas and influences, taking on elements of progressive, tech and deep house with a dash of techno seasoning.

A 2007 debut for BIT Records Mexico laid the foundations for Rada to develop his sound as he and fellow Argentinean, Nicholas Van Orton performed in clubs and pubs across the country. A raft of further work for the likes of Majestic Family, Superordinate Music and Soundteller, has followed in the intervening years but it with the Balkan Connection family of labels and the Van Orton owned, South American variant, that Rada is particularly known. Thus, over a century of production credits have graced the Balkan Connection name with an abundance of work for the BCSA imprint. Indeed, the December 2015 full-length debut album, "Air Ports" was a notable highlight in amongst legion original EPs and multiple remixes for the likes of Robert R. Hardy, Deepfunk and Van Orton himself.

Work for Particles is centred around October 2016's "Yaroun" EP including a remix from the iconic Italian artist, Andrea Cassino, while Rada remixed Simos Tagias' "Airlock" in May 2017. As he now returns to the label with the twin-track, "Sheremetyevo", the title track itself is a wondrous melange of rhythm and melody, imbued with Rada's characteristic percussive flair and melodic enterprise. A seismic kick keeps the track in check and luscious pads form a foundation for a pitched lead-line to shift across the sonic spectrum. Combined with a cleverly cadenced motif, the rhythmic explosion in the third movement sees the track burst into life.

Partner track, "One-One Eleven Thousand" oozes class with is bouncing bass groove, dynamic percussive urgency and machine-sounding artificial voice effect. Providing a hypnotic bed for melodic elements to emerge, a shimmering arpeggio filters into listener consciousness with a bright and pulsing counterpoint motif providing the perfect accompaniment. Rising and falling with veritable ease across the duration of the track, Rada's skill and technique is in full evidence.

With a pair of new tracks to his name, Nicolas Rada is certain to see his career take-off further via "Sheremetyevo".

Tale Of Us present a new collaboration with Vaal for the sixth release on their Afterlife label. Three years after they teamed up for ‘Concur’ and began to tour together, the trio return with their most anthemic offering yet. Vaal’s hauntingly-beautiful and instantly-recognisable vocals are the centre-piece on ‘Monument’, building on the style of her Wander To Hell EP (AL002). The drums and shimmering synth lines are moody and uplifting in the way Tale Of Us have made their own, arranged perfectly for the psychedelic breakthrough.

On the flip side, ‘The Hangar’ takes a different approach to equally devastating effect. It pumps with added urgency and a thunderous, steely bassline lunges out from the low-end. Designed for large soundsystems and big rooms, ‘The Hangar’ finds Tale Of Us and Vaal at their most direct and it’s something to behold.

Barnt and Stephan Bodzin, two artists whose stand-out performances at recent Afterlife events have made them firm favourites with the crowds, are tapped for the remixes (AL007). They both take on ‘Monument’, Barnt opting for a rolling, percussive direction and Bodzin more ethereal and transportive.

Yeah But No from Berlin released their self-titled debut album in November, accompanied by a couple of singles and EPs. After touring on their own and as support for Sylvan Esso and Zoot Woman, another extensive tour segment is due to begin in the May 2018.

Merging electronic music with classic song structures into a smart and captivating listening enjoyment. That's Yeah But No's objective. The duo from Berlin is comprised of techno producer Douglas Greed and singer Fabian Kuss. The former made a name for himself in the techno scene and recently released an album together with Mooryc with their mutual project Eating Snow. 

The two get to know each other four years ago when Greed was looking for a singer for his tracks. Tasteful success label Freude am Tanzen releases his music during that time and he tours through Europe, plays in Mexico and Australia. In Fabian Kuss he finds the matching counterpart. Not only has he studied voice but also stood on stages all across the country and explored musical styles from jazz to funk and pop with his bands. 

Now Yeah But No announce the release of "Remixes I", one of two EPs containing contributions by friends made along the way, and artists Yeah But No became friends and fans of. Karmon (Diynamic), Daniel Brandt (Erased Tapes, Brandt Brauer Frick etc.), Marc Holstege (Stil vor Talent), Panthera Krause (Uncanny Valley, Riotvan, ORS etc.), and Mudaze (Beast Entertainment) promise a good round of tasteful listening pleasure.

Yeah But No are currently working on the tracks of their second album, which will be released in November 2018

It's been quite a wait for new &ME material here on Keinemusik. But these two new cuts, adding to our catalogue number KM046, sure have been worth waiting for. The EP starts with The Rapture Pt.II and as the title already suggests, it coherently takes up where his last original material had left us, in a stirred state of sweet, harmony-kissed affection. Known as a virtuoso of sound-details, &ME lives up to that reputation, implementing fine synth-elements and temperately rattling percussions, all conjoined by shimmering layers and, of course, an ultimately heart-melting Piano improvisation that at some point will play along to the rhythm of its synthetic brother to a finale that will leave no crowd untouched.

"Solaris" on the flipside adds indeed a futuristic note to the arrangement, opening up with a broken beat and propelling claps. A cut that, as much as its predecessor, is relying on flow and organic shifts rather than forced and peaktime formatted gimmickry, adding a synth arpeggio, white noise, vocal chants and harmonies in a rather subtle way. Nevertheless, it unfolds a compelling strength to heat the dancefloor gradually through its playtime.
