Dance Valley ("The Woodstock of Dance") is an annual dance music festival organised by United Dance Company (UDC) in the summer in Spaarnwoude, Netherlands. The first edition was in 1995 when 8,000 people attended (and in 2001 90,000 visitors). Dance Valley grew rapidly, both in duration and number of visitors.

The Computer Controlled series of mixes I started back in 1997 were groundbreaking in the sense of taking your own record releases and making them into an album by playing these records in a live DJ set.

I didn't name my tracks on my Ghetto Technics records.  I released 16 records, went to California twice and mixed these records into two different albums which became Computer Controlled 1 & 2.  These were actual releases which sold 50,000 units. 

In 2003 a bootleg release of volume 3 appeared when the label went chapter 11.  And Volume 4 was a Soundcloud release only.  Times have changed.  Lives have changed.  

Computer Controlled 5 for 2023.  The concept remains.  Record a bunch of new tracks all exclusive unreleased material.  Everything on this mix has been made in 2023.  Everything has come full circle.  At 133.333 BPM, the beats on vinyl rotate one revolution per one measure of music.

No vinyl here though.  My Analog days are far behind me.  I still love my vinyl, but this is an all digital affair in 2023.  Creation to completion.  I still have the raw style which always was my signature.

COMPUTER CONTROLLED 5 / FRANKIE BONES / CONTINUOUS DJ MIX

Like Hip Hop, Techno Rave was what it was called in the very beginning of the American scene.  Hip would be the knowledge. Hop would be the Dance.  Techno was the Music, Rave was the Movement.  1990 The Peace Love Unity Movement.  In those first three years Rave expanded cross country and by 1993 every city in America had events.  Techno Rave had been dropped as Rave Music became commercialized & the Movement now worldwide.

Techno went back to it's underground roots from Detroit and Movement now established became about Respect.  Respect the Movement.  This was 1993.

Moving forward 30 years, Detroit Techno Militia are the gatekeepers of truth in Techno city.  They came to Brooklyn to spread the Detroit Love in a time and place where New York City is more like Gotham then the NYC we knew.  

But when Brooklyn is in the House, Brooklyn is in the House.  A small dedicated crowd of ravers & clubbers alike kept this party going unitl about 9 a.m.  

I played 1:20-2:40 a.m.  80 minutes.  When dipped in reality, we really represent the real in this culture.  Signiture styles which come from the beginnings of both Techno & Rave and can be copied but not duplicated.

This was the first 45 minutes of a 90 minute set.  I was assaulted by a Newark Undercover Cop 
from behind without warning.  This individual was trying to turn off the sound system off and I pushed him back and we go about 5 feet backwards into a wall.  Never once did this officer say a word and never produced a badge.  His actions put everyone in danger including his own team when organizers tried to pull us away from each other.  The music didn't stop until another uniformed officer flipped the table over.  Just seconds before this hundreds of party goers were enjoying the night and not one person posed any threat to anyone, peace & love & having fun.

At this point a full on riot broke out with uniformed police officers punching & kicking several people, using excessive force and handcuffing people.  A close friend and associate of mine named Alex wound up getting charged with Assualt On A Police Officer.  For just coming into separate myself and the initial cop who attacked me.  This officer needs to be held accountable.

"Call It Techno" was the blueprint track which was written on June 4, 1989.  It was at the forefront of European Rave Culture and became a well known track in the U.K. & Germany.  The documentary "We Call It Techno" explains it right from the beginning and from that came the second & third Love Parade themes being named "The Future Is Ours" off the XL/Citibeat LP by Musto & Bones.  And "My House Is Your House" from the Break Boys which was Frankie Bones aka on Fourth Floor Records in 1990.

Frankie became the American Pioneer of Rave Culture on both coasts in 1990, playing Techno as a movement.  The Peace, Love, Unity Movement which in 1993 became PLUR after a fight broke out at an event in The Bronx which had Richie Hawtin as it's headliner.

And the rest is history.  If words can paint the picture here, the first 5 Soundcloud links will describe a DJ who has a journey of a lifetime & still is active in 2024.  The music that comes from the heart & soul of the Brooklyn Underground.
