I don't have a specially good connection to my ancestors. I don't know too much about my family roots and I didn't know my grandparents very well either. 
But lately I am starting to build a connection to the people who lived here long time ago. I am following the songlines of the surrounding landscapes and listening what they want to tell me. And I am curious to find out, where this vague interest wants to take me...

buddy did not like rock, but his influences are notorious in the best and most famous rock drummers who admired him and this would be his first rock, visit his magnificent technique and music on you tube, of course I'm working on more tracks with him.      -Buddy Rich began playing drums in the world of vaudeville as "Traps, the Drum Wonder" when he was only 4 years old; he was completely self-taught and his initial training was carried out through his performances in vaudeville, alternating his facet of musician with that of dancer and singer.

Around 1938 he discovered jazz and played in Joe Marsala's group, from which he left to join the Bunny Berigan orchestra. During 1939 he played with Artie Shaw (at a time when his orchestra was the most popular), and then from 1939 to 1945 (with a hiatus for military service) with Tommy Dorsey, on a historic stage. The prestigious Slingerland battery factory released a series of its famous "Radio King" box, with Rich's signature.

Rich formed a bop orchestra during 1945-1947 (which was not very successful), toured with Jazz at the Philharmonic, recorded with countless 1950s stars for Verve (including Charlie Parker, Lester Young, Art Tatum and Lionel Hampton), and worked with Les Brown, Charlie Ventura, Tommy Dorsey (1954-1955) and Harry James (between 1953-1966, without interruption). A heart attack in 1959 forced him to rest; he returned as a vocalist, although without forgetting the drums.

In 1966, Buddy Rich formed a big band that would be his main occupation for the last twenty years of his life. His heart began to give him trouble again in 1983, but it was impossible for him to give up music until his death from a heart attack in 1987. His remains are at Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles California.

A Hand Full Of Toys/ Featuring Dairv Dubbleyew

This piece was inspired by a short phrase that caught my attention in  Bach's Organ Sonata No.4, played by the prodigiously talented Icelandic pianist Vikingur Olafsson. As is often the case for me, finding the notes in that short phrase started me on a journey, and after a number of miss steps and U-turns I ended up here.

For the Willow Wept… (Sunrise Edition) holds a deeply personal place in my heart. While the original version was released in 2012, the journey toward its completion began four years earlier—and it was anything but easy.

During that time, I was navigating an emotional storm. Sitting down to compose felt nearly impossible. When I could gather the energy, I might play a few notes, sketch an idea, or tweak a voice—but more often than not, I’d walk away. Days turned into weeks, weeks into months. The weight of everything I was experiencing made it difficult to focus, and each return to the project often pulled me deeper into a place I was trying to escape.

In retrospect, it’s no surprise that the album drifts between emotional highs and lows—it mirrors the state of my life during those years.

By late 2011 and early 2012, something changed. I began to reclaim my passion for music, bolstered by the support and encouragement of those close to me. I took the six tracks I had and began shaping them into something complete. I didn’t want to release an EP, so I included a reprise of Sea Dragon—essentially the same track with a new intro and outro—to bring balance to the album.

Then, something unexpected happened: I found inspiration.

A piece I’d been struggling with suddenly came together. That track became For the Willow Weeps Underneath the Stormy Skies, and it resonated with me so deeply that I named the entire album after it. Through the presence of someone very close to my heart, I found the strength to finish what I had started.

Although the original album released in June 2012, I always knew I’d return to it. Years later, with new perspective and growth as a composer, I revisited the project. I remastered the original tracks, removed the two earlier versions of Sea Dragon, and kept only the Reprise. I also wrote three new pieces to fully realize the album as a complete emotional arc—one that finally reflects the depth I had envisioned from the beginning.

For the Willow Wept… (Sunrise Edition) is a story of emotional resilience—of navigating darkness and finding the courage to move toward the light. It’s about owning your story, embracing your pain, and realizing that only you have the power to shape your future.

We all face sorrow—but even the longest night eventually gives way to dawn.

This edition is dedicated to my wife, who showed me what true happiness is.
She is my sunrise.
She is my Willow.

A small note on my own behalf: I have noticed that my playback figures have dropped dramatically. The statistics show that the number of playbacks has dropped from 2000 per week to just under 200.
On the one hand, this is frustrating, as everyone sees this as an indicator and confirmation of their work. On the other hand, figures are not particularly important, but one wonders what is wrong. In my opinion, SC has changed a lot, uploading tracks has become more complicated and constant security queries are annoying.
In addition, great artists are disappearing from the platform, partly by their own choice, partly because they have been banned, the algorithm has “recognized” them as spam and mercilessly deleted their account. I'm still a paying member, but my attitude towards this has changed...

Please let me know your experiences and impressions.

A long, long time ago, there was an organ in the Christmas-decorated living room in his parents' house, where Frank grew up. Originally bought by his father for his two older siblings, they showed no interest in playing the organ. Frank, however, did. White and black keys and giving off strange sounds. 

So at the age of 9 he began to let his fingers circle on this instrument, searching for the right keys like on a typewriter. And another 9 years would pass before he could buy his first own instrument. Already at the age of 13 he made notes about the then current synthesizers, bought one magazine after the other and visited music fairs in Frankfurt, Germany.

His first keyboard was the Yamaha DSR-2000, which he bought in a music store near his hometown Biebertal. In installments! Finally he could develop himself further - away from the limited tonality of the small organ. The built-in 8-track sequencer helped him to reach unimagined heights. 
Little by little his equipment expanded and his ambition to create music like that of Jean-Michel Jarres came closer. Influenced by this and countless other musicians of the time, his interest grew, but he taught himself everything. Not even having attended a music school or being able to read music at all, he wrote one song after another and recorded them on the only medium available to him at the time: audio cassettes.
Many of these recordings are unfortunately lost forever, because cassettes are and were not the best recording medium. He has to try to play many of his songs from memory. 

In 2007, he fulfilled a long-awaited wish: to buy a KORG. He had always wanted to own one, but with the latest synthesizers at the time of their release having a purchase price of over 6000 D-marks (the currency of the time in the 1980s and 1990s), that dream of owning one was far away. So in 2007 he bought a used KORG 01W/FD at ebay. And as before with the purchase of the Yamaha keyboard, a completely new world opened up to him.

In addition, there were expanders and sound modules from Kawai, Roland and Yamaha (K1m, SC-55, QY10). Six years later his enthusiasm for making music ebbed and rediscovered his hobby (which it always was and still is). In 2018 in April he decided to present his music to a wider audience and uploaded his first song on the platform soundcloud. Since that time, thanks also to the ever-evolving software, he continues to evolve, experiment and relive his times through music.
