Paris. Fall of 1945. 

The lobby of a luxury hotel. Rainy morning. A young woman, who went through concentration camp and a medical experiment: removal of uterus without anesthesia. Wait for the cab. A handsome young man waiting next to her, reading newspaper and humming a melody from "The Rhine Gold". Could it be her surgeon?  The man she saw only once, but with whom she spent hours and hours talking to inside her head. The man she was dying to encounter. For a lot of reasons, as she thought at first, but really just for one question - where does one find such lust for life?

Not, and this marks its artistic profile, not additively, "side by side". Ullip combines these functions in order to let a new something emerge from them. CDs whose tracks do not preserve and reproduce "played music" as is usually the case. But CDs where the music is created by editing, mixing and recording it "on the fly". The CD as an audience, so to speak. With the great advantage that - in contrast to live sessions - one can enjoy the cuts of the CDs over and over again.
Based on a rich musical experience and an almost "wild" past, Ullip - together with other musicians - has today found a style that activates and inspires a special genre:

'Chained music'.

Sounds and pieces, music and rhythms that are played in a self-inspiring way or created on technical devices. Born in the moment, just like jazz. Also, not only as in jazz, given as a theme, otherwise improvised. Above all, they are not reproductions in the sense of notated notes. All the elements that stand between the first beat and sound of a live gig, a studio recording and the final burning process on a CD are interlinked to create what the "piece" recorded on silver discs ultimately is.

Any tone can succeed any other tone, any tone can sound simultaneously with any other tone or tones, and any group of tones can be followed by any other group of tones, just as any degree of tension  or nuance can occur in any medium under any kind of stress or duration. Successful projection will depend upon the contextual and formal conditions that prevail, and upon the skill and soul of the composer.

Music is a system of signs composed of complex forms which may be represented by physical sounds, and which in this way mediate between mental and psychic contents. To deal with such a system, semiotics are naturally evoked. To describe these forms, mathematics is the adequate language. To represent these forms on the physical level, physics are indispensable. And to understand the psychic contents, psychology is the predestined science.
