On November 5, 2022, Daniel Carter and Stefan Christoff improvised together at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Brooklyn, a community space, with strong connections to migrant justice activism, that is also a temporary home for many newly arrived asylum seekers some of whom sat to listen to the musical exchange. 
This session was the first encounter between Carter and Christoff that resulted in musical explorations. Remaining from this session were a couple of audio fragments which Christoff shared with a network of musicians globally who remixed and reimagined them. In Astronomy is the resulting album.
Thank you to Leina Bocar for helping to arrange the recording space, to Devin Brahja Waldman for helping to facilitate the connection with Daniel Carter, to Juan Carlos Ruiz at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for welcoming this project, to Jessie Stein for hosting me in NY on the weekend of this session and to all the awesome participating artists!
