The shapes moved and danced across the sky, casting shadows back down upon the earth below. Little kites fluttered upon the end of long threads of string, a myriad of colours dotted and darted against a deep backdrop of radiant opal blue. The morning sun was warm as it beamed down upon the tall grass in which Pingo stood, he looked upwards to the heavens above before taking in a deep breath and recoiling his kite from the sky in which it soared. That was all for today... 

Squama are set to release a new album from an artist called Popp, a wonderful LP titled "Devi" which will be available from the 25th of June later this year. The Munich based musician weaves a tapestry of wondroud melodies and percussive elements across a record which is as deep and poetic as it is danceable.

In 2019 pioneering punk outfit Crass made the original track stems of their 1978 debut album 'The Feeding of the Five Thousand’ available as a free download. Their intention: for people to breathe new life into the music and create their own fresh takes on the originals. 

So far, the remix project, which has raised over £10,000 for Refuge, a charity that supports women and children experiencing domestic violence, has featured reworks from the likes of Richard Russell and Johnny Dynell, and now they return for another exclusive 12" with two new remixes courtesy of Test Dept and Maral. Our pick from Maral is a reflection of all the aspects of Crass that have influenced her. Using distortion, samples and snippets of Iranian folk song, she channels the feeling of secretly listening to Crass in her bedroom as a teenager, and her parent's Iranian music seeming to curiously blend with the songs.

The noise echoed between the walls of the old metal framework, it bounced and reverberated inside what was now little more than an empty shell. In the old space ship he sat watching the stars in the night sky - they glittered and glistened against a backdrop of pristine, dense black. He wondered what it might be like out there - in the open expanse, beyond the confines of gravity, where time stood still. This was everything. 

Flug 8 is set to re-release an old track of his digitally which was met with much acclaim and praise in previous years. The EP features collaborations with Acid Pauli and is now available on his label, Kerosene.
