I remember buying a Portishead single in 1998 and it had a short film you could play on your computer using shockwave.
This is the soundtrack, a cut-up of instrumentals and various other bits, cut-up and reworked.
This is just about the only mix that I have kept on my MP3 player for 14 years and still listen to.
You probably won't find this anywhere else.

welcome along to our Mixtape Paradiso advent calender für music lovers & vinyl dreams.
First up is Christos Davidopoulos , the soul of the legendary independent Optimal record store in Munich where I bought my first TV Personalities 45  sometime in the early 80´s after a long ride with my tuned up Velo Solex,comin all the  way  from Augsburg town.
Christos is a living encyclopedia of music & subculture literature and the only collector of christmas records that I know, here in his little mixtape he showcases his love for Jamaican early soulful Reggae & Rocksteady 45s , with some late 70´s lovers thrown in for good measure.
This set was recorded at our Waxsafari spring edition record fair 3/2024 @ Perle.Munich.

It´s the third day of december...& three is the magic number, right? 
Lights, camera, action for a true DJ underground heroe, Tyrolian native DJ Enne. I met him first on some Cosmic music events back in the 80´s where he was THE man & the connection to the Italian cosmic music scene , especially to a certain Mr Beppe Loda. Maybe he´s the uncrowned King of Libraries ? Who knows...? time is right on this cold & dark december day for a bit of slomo 90´s underground revival. Trip Hop was THE sound almost 30 years ago,championed by the likes of Massive Attack ,K&D or DJ Shadow. DJ Ruhr de Man rocks this style in his mixtape recorded  at Waxsafari ,Perle :Munich , while nowadays bands from Munich like FEH (Trikont) bring it back live.

Dec 12 Mixtape Paradiso advent calender Ruhr de Manr live @ Perle Munich 2024

Recently I had the pleasure of performing at Crystal Palace Bowl in London as part of the South Facing Festival, alongside a bunch of heroes & influences of mine, namely DJ Shadow, UNKLE (James Lavelle & Ronin), Morcheeba, Zero 7, Chali 2na (Jurassic 5) & A Skillz, as well as my good friend DJ Cheeba.

Here is a 33-track 90-minute mix including some of the music I played during my sets at the event, and tracks from the artists that performed. One-take business.

Incidentally, last time I was at Crystal Palace Bowl was back in 1996, when I was an extra in the video to Chemical Brothers & Noel Gallagher's No.1 single 'Setting Sun' (!), so it was quite the trip to be back nearly 30 years later for this event! So as a bonus, for pure self-indulgence, I included that track too.

The mix also kicks off with a nod to Busta Rhymes, who headlined the festival the following day.

It was nice to be able to play some of the music on big speakers that I was playing in my bedroom way back when, along with being on stage with some of the artists that dominated my record collection around about that period too.

Shout to Rob Soundcrash & team, New Analog Design, Ishani Chakra, Big Martyn, Lauren & Ben, all the artists, and to all those folks that showed love. This one's for y'all! x
